弟兄们，关于那时候和日期，不用人写信给你们，因为你们自己明明知道，主的日子来到会像贼在夜间突然来到一样。人正说平安稳定的时候，灾祸忽然临到他们，如同阵痛临到怀胎的妇人一样，他们绝逃脱不了。

然后要对我自己说：你这个人哪，你有许多财物积存，可供多年享用，只管安安逸逸吃喝快乐吧！’上帝却对他说：‘无知的人哪！今夜就要你的性命，你所预备的要归谁呢？’

“耶和华—你的上帝必领你进他向你列祖亚伯拉罕、以撒、雅各起誓要给你的地。那里有又大又美的城镇，不是你建造的；有装满各样美物的房屋，不是你装满的；有挖成的水井，不是你挖的；有葡萄园、橄榄园，不是你栽植的；你吃了而且饱足。你要谨慎，免得你忘记领你从埃及地为奴之家出来的耶和华。

当那日，万军之主耶和华使人哭泣哀号，头上光秃，身披麻布。看哪，人却欢喜快乐，宰牛杀羊，吃肉喝酒：“让我们吃吃喝喝吧！因为明天要死了。”万军之耶和华开启我的耳朵：“这罪孽直到你们死，断不得赦免！”这是万军之主耶和华说的。

亚比该到拿八那里，看哪，他在家里摆设宴席，如同王的宴席。拿八心情舒畅，酩酊大醉。所以亚比该大小事都没有告诉他，直等到早晨天亮的时候。到了早晨，拿八酒醒了，他的妻子把这些事都告诉他，他就发心脏病快死了，僵如石头。过了十天，耶和华击打拿八，他就死了。

我心慌乱，惊恐威吓我。我所渴望的黄昏，反成为我的恐惧。

免得你吃得饱足，建造上好的房屋，住在其中，你的牛羊增多，你的金银增多，你拥有的一切全都增多，于是你的心高傲，忘记耶和华—你的上帝。他曾将你从埃及地为奴之家领出来，

“有一个财主穿着紫色袍和细麻布衣服，天天奢华宴乐。又有一个讨饭的，名叫拉撒路，浑身长疮，被人放在财主门口，想得财主桌子上掉下来的碎食充饥，甚至还有狗来舔他的疮。后来那讨饭的死了，被天使带去放在亚伯拉罕的怀里。财主也死了，并且埋葬了。他在阴间受苦，举目远远地望见亚伯拉罕，又望见拉撒路在他怀里，

他们的家宅平安无惧，上帝的杖不加在他们身上。他们的公牛传种而不断绝，母牛生牛犊而不掉胎。他们打发小男孩出去，多如羊群，他们的孩子踊跃跳舞。他们随着琴鼓歌唱，因箫声欢喜。他们度日诸事亨通，在平安中下到阴间。
