弟兄姊妹，这件事会在什么日期、什么时候发生，不必我写信告诉你们，因为你们已经清楚知道，将来有一天，主会突然来到，像贼在夜里忽然出现一样。当人们正在说一切平安稳妥的时候，灾祸会像产痛临到孕妇一样突然临到他们，令他们无法逃脱。

那时，我就可以对自己说，“你积存这么多财产，一生享用不尽，现在大可高枕无忧、尽情地吃喝玩乐吧！”’但上帝对他说，‘无知的人啊，今晚就要取走你的命！你所预备的一切留给谁享用呢？’”

“你们的上帝耶和华将带你们进入祂向你们祖先亚伯拉罕、以撒和雅各起誓要赐给你们的土地。那里的宏伟城邑不是你们建造的，满屋的美物不是你们积攒的，井不是你们挖掘的，葡萄园和橄榄树也不是你们栽种的。你们在那里吃饱喝足之后，要小心，不可忘记把你们从受奴役之地——埃及救出来的耶和华。

那日，万军之耶和华呼召你们哭泣哀号，剃光头发，身披麻衣。但你们还是欢喜作乐，宰牛杀羊，喝酒吃肉，说：“让我们吃喝吧！因为明天我们就死了。”万军之耶和华启示我说：“你们这罪到死也得不到赦免。这是主——万军之耶和华说的。”

她回到家时，拿八正在大摆宴席，排场如御宴。她见拿八心情愉快，喝得酩酊大醉，就什么也没告诉他，等第二天早上再说。次日清晨，拿八酒醒以后，他妻子把发生的一切告诉他，他吓得昏死过去，身体僵硬如石。过了十天，耶和华击打拿八，他就死了。

我心慌意乱，惊惧不堪，我期盼的黄昏却令我恐惧。

当你们丰衣足食、居室华美、牛羊众多、金银日增的时候，切勿心骄气傲，忘记你们的上帝耶和华。祂把你们从受奴役之地——埃及救出来，

耶稣又说：“有个财主天天衣着华丽，生活奢侈。又有一个名叫拉撒路的乞丐身上长满了脓疮，被人放在财主家门口。他渴望吃到财主桌上掉下来的食物残渣，却只有狗来舔他的疮。“后来，乞丐死了，天使带他到亚伯拉罕身边。财主也死了，被人埋葬了。他在阴间受折磨，抬头远远地看见亚伯拉罕和他身边的拉撒路，

他们家中平安无惧，他们不被上帝杖打。他们的公牛繁殖力强，他们的母牛从不掉胎。他们让孩童像羊群一样走到户外，尽情地欢跳。他们伴着铃鼓和竖琴歌唱，在笛声中欢喜不已。他们一生幸福，安然下到阴间。
