夫閃電之作、發於此而照於彼、霎時瑩徹全宇。人子降臨之日、亦復如是。

For the Son of Man in his day will be like the lightning, which flashes and lights up the sky from one end to the other.

When the Son of Man comes, he will be like the lightning. It flashes and lights up the sky from one end to the other.

For as the lightning flashes and lights up the sky from one side to the other, so will the Son of Man be in his day.

電光怎樣從東方閃出來，一直照到西方，人子降臨的時候，也是這樣。

萬軍之耶和華說：“看哪！那日來到，像燒著的火爐一樣；驕傲的和作惡的，都必成為碎稭；那要來的日子，必把他們燒盡，不給他們留下一根一枝。可是，對你們敬畏我名的人，必有公義的太陽升起來；它的光線有醫治的功能；你們必出來跳躍，像欄裡的肥牛犢。”

萬軍之耶和華說：“看哪！我派我的使者，在我前面預備道路；你們所尋求的主，必忽然進入他的殿；你們所愛慕立約的使者，就要來到。”可是，他來的日子，誰能當得起呢？他顯現的時候，誰能站立得住呢？因為他像煉金之人的火，又像漂布之人的鹼。

無論有靈、有話、有冒我們的名的書信，說主的日子現在到了，你們都不要輕易動心，也不要驚慌。

你們也應當忍耐，堅定自己的心；因為主再來的日子近了。

因為你們自己清楚知道，主的日子來到，就像夜間的賊來到一樣。

他發雷聲響遍天下，也發電光閃到地極。接著雷聲霹靂，神以自己威嚴之聲打雷，人聽到雷聲的時候，神並沒有留住風霜雨雲（“風霜雨雲”直譯是“它們”）。

耶和華必在他子民頭上顯現，他的箭必像閃電一般射出；主耶和華必吹起號角，乘著南方的暴風而行。

但主的日子必要像賊一樣來到。在那日，天必轟然一聲地消失，所有元素都因烈火而融化；地和地上所有的，都要被燒毀（“被燒毀”有不少古抄本作“被發現”）。

“那時，人子的徵兆要顯在天上，地上的萬族都要哀號，並且看見人子帶著能力，滿有榮耀，駕著天上的雲降臨。

那時，這不法的人必要顯露出來。主耶穌要用自己口中的氣除掉他，以自己再來所顯現的光輝消滅他。

耶穌回答：“你已經說了﹙“你已經說了”或譯：“這是你說的。”﹚；但我告訴你們：從今以後，你們要看見人子，坐在權能者的右邊，駕著天上的雲降臨。”

“當人子在他的榮耀裡，帶著所有的使者降臨的時候，他要坐在榮耀的寶座上。
