又謂門徒曰：『時日將至、爾曹欲親歷人子之一日、亦不可得。

他又对门徒说：“日子将到，你们巴不得看见人子的一个日子，却不得看见。

他又对门徒说：“那些日子将到，你们渴望能看见人子的一个日子，却看不见。

祂又对门徒说：“时候将到，你们将渴望见到人子降临的日子，可是你们却见不到。

耶稣又对门徒们说：“日子将要来到，那时候你们会渴望看见人子日子中的一天，可是看不到。

Then he said to his disciples,“ The time is coming when you will long to see one of the days of the Son of Man, but you will not see it.

Then Jesus spoke to his disciples.“ The time is coming,” he said,“ when you will long to see one of the days of the Son of Man. But you won’t see it.

And he said to the disciples,“ The days are coming when you will desire to see one of the days of the Son of Man, and you will not see it.

耶穌對曰：『新壻之友、方伴新壻、詎能哀泣？他日新壻被刼而去、斯彼齋戒時矣。

他日新壻被奪以去、斯若曹守齋時矣。』

『瞬息之間、而爾不得睹予矣！復一瞬息、而爾又得見予矣！』門徒乃相語曰：『師曰：「瞬息之間、不得睹予、復一瞬息、又得見予、」又言「予今歸父」者、果何謂耶？』又曰：『所謂「瞬息之間」何謂耶？吾儕實不知其所云。』耶穌心知諸徒欲有所問、乃告之曰：『予言「瞬息之間、不得睹予、復一瞬息、又得見予、」爾乃以此互詢耶？予切實語爾爾將哀悼痛苦、而世將歡忻鼓舞。爾等不免憂心戚戚、然爾等之憂戚、終必化為神樂。若懷胎之婦、分娩時不勝痛苦、及其既產、則忘其苦、且必以世上新生一人而樂焉。是故爾目前雖感憂苦、迨予重復見爾、則爾必欣然而樂、爾心之樂、人莫奪焉。

曩予與爾相偕、故未以此語爾；今予辭別復命、爾中竟無問我何歸者！茲聞予言、爾乃不勝憂戚。實以相告、予之去、爾之益也。蓋予不去、則保慰恩師不至。予去當遣之來。

耶穌乃謂之曰：『予與爾俱尚有須臾、將歸詣遣予者；其時爾等將追尋於予、而不獲見予、以予之所在、非爾之所能詣也。』猶太人相語曰：『彼將何往、而使吾人覓而不獲耶？意者彼將周遊列國、以教萬民歟？不然其言「爾將追尋於予、而不獲見予、以予之所在非爾之所能詣」者、果何謂也？』

惟時將屆、新壻被挈而去、斯其友守齋時矣。

小子乎、予與爾俱、尚有片時、爾將依依追念、予之所往、爾不能來。曩曾以此語猶太人、今亦舉以語爾。

耶穌復告人曰：『予往矣！爾曹追尋於予、而將死於罪孽之中、予之所往、爾莫得而至焉。』猶太人曰：『意者彼將自盡、故云：「予之所往、爾莫得而至」歟？』耶穌曰：『爾自地出、予自天降；爾屬斯世、予則不屬斯世；予故云：「爾將死於罪孽之中；」倘爾不信予之為予、則爾之死於罪中也必矣？』

茲者爾室其墟矣。吾實語汝、而今而後、以至汝歡歌「奉主名而來者、洵堪頌揚」之日、汝將不得見吾矣。』

予不復在世、若輩在世而予則歸父。聖父乎！求父以己名義、保佑父所賜予之眾使成一體、猶父與予之為一體。當予與若輩俱時、予以父名義守護父所賜予之眾、一無所失、而所失者、惟淪喪之子；此亦所以應驗經言耳。今予歸父、而猶遺言於世者、欲使吾心之樂、沛然充溢於若輩之心也。

耶穌曰：『光處爾曹之中、尚有片時、及爾有光、爾當勉行、毋使暗冥襲爾、行於黑暗中者、不自知其所往、
