众人正听见这些话的时候，耶稣因为将近耶路撒冷，又因他们以为上帝的国快要显现，就接着讲了一个比喻，

耶稣回答：“我的国不属于这世界；我的国若属于这世界，我的部下就会为我战斗，使我不至于被交给犹太人。只是我的国不属于这世界。”

他们聚集的时候，问耶稣：“主啊，你就要在这时候复兴以色列国吗？”耶稣对他们说：“父凭着自己的权柄所定的时候和日期，不是你们可以知道的。

当诸王在位的时候，天上的上帝必另立一个永不败坏的国度，这国度必不归给其他百姓，却要打碎灭绝所有的国度，存立到永远。

有人要对你们说：‘看哪，在那里！’或说：‘看哪，在这里！’你们不要出去，也不要追随他们。好像闪电从天这边一闪直照到天那边，人子在他的日子也要这样。

律法和先知到约翰为止，从此上帝国的福音传开了，人人努力要进去。

他回答我说：“这是耶和华指示所罗巴伯的话。万军之耶和华说：不是倚靠势力，不是倚靠才能，乃是倚靠我的灵方能成事。

‘就是你们城里的尘土粘在我们的脚上，我们也当着你们擦去。但是，你们该知道上帝的国临近了。’
