眾人聽這些話的時候，因為耶穌已經接近耶路撒冷，又因他們以為神的國快要出現，他就講了一個比喻，

耶穌回答：“我的國不屬於這世界；如果我的國屬於這世界，我的臣僕就要作戰，使我不至被交給猶太人。不過，我的國不是這世上的。”

他們聚集的時候，問耶穌說：“主啊，你要在這時候使以色列復國嗎？”耶穌說：“父憑著自己的權柄所定的時間或日期，你們不必知道。

那些王在位的時候，天上的神必興起另一個永不滅亡的國，國權必不歸給別族的人。這國必砸碎毀滅其他各國；並且這國必存到永遠。

有人會對你們說：‘看哪，在那裡；看哪，在這裡！’你們不要出去，也不要追隨他們。電光怎樣從天這邊一閃，直照到天那邊，人子在他的日子也是這樣。

律法和先知到約翰就結束了。從此，神的國的福音就傳開了，人人都要努力進去。

他對我說：“這是耶和華對所羅巴伯所說的話：‘不是倚靠權勢，不是倚靠能力，而是倚靠我的靈。’這是萬軍之耶和華說的。

‘連你們城裡那黏在我們腳上的塵土，我們也要當著你們擦去。雖然這樣，你們應該知道：神的國臨近了！’
