众人在听的时候，耶稣又为他们讲了一个比喻，因为祂快到耶路撒冷了，人们以为上帝的国马上就要降临了。

耶稣答道：“我的国不属于这个世界，如果我的国属于这个世界，我的臣仆早就起来争战了，我也不会被交在犹太人的手里。但我的国不属于这个世界。”

他们跟耶稣在一起的时候问祂：“主啊，你要在这时候复兴以色列国吗？”耶稣回答说：“天父照祂的权柄定下的时间、日期不是你们可以知道的。

在以上列王统治的时候，天上的上帝必设立一国——永不灭亡、外族无法夺其政权。这国将击垮、消灭列国，并且永远长存。

有人将对你们说，‘看啊，祂在这里！’或说，‘看啊，祂在那里！’你们不要出去，也不要追随他们。因为人子降临的时候必如划过长空的闪电，从天这边一直照亮到天那边。

约翰还没有来以前，律法书和先知书是你们的准则。他出来后，上帝国的福音开始广传，人人都在努力进上帝的国。

他对我说：“这是耶和华对所罗巴伯讲的话。万军之耶和华说，‘不靠权势，不靠才能，乃靠我的灵。

‘就连你们城里的尘土粘在我们脚上，我们都要跺掉，但是要知道，上帝的国临近了。’
