So you too, when you have done everything you were commanded to do, should say,‘ We are slaves undeserving of special praise; we have only done what was our duty.’”

是故爾等既盡厥職、亦宜曰：「吾儕無益之僕也、惟奉行所命而已矣。」』

It’s the same with you. Suppose you have done everything you were told to do. Then you should say,‘ We are not worthy to serve you. We have only done our duty.’ ”

So you also, when you have done all that you were commanded, say,‘ We are unworthy servants; we have only done what was our duty.’”

In the same way, when you obey me you should say,‘ We are unworthy servants who have simply done our duty.’”

In the same way, when you have done all that you were commanded, you should say,‘ We are unworthy servants; we’ve only done our duty.’”

So you too, when you do all the things which were commanded you, say,‘ We are unworthy slaves; we have done only that which we ought to have done.’ ”

So likewise you, when you have done all those things which you are commanded, say,‘ We are unprofitable servants. We have done what was our duty to do.’”

Even so ye also, when ye shall have done all the things that are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants; we have done that which it was our duty to do.

In the same way, when you have done all that you were commanded, you should say,‘ We are good-for-nothing slaves; we’ve only done our duty.’”

So likewise ye, when ye shall have done all those things which are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants: we have done that which was our duty to do.

Even so you also, when you have done all the things that are commanded you, say,‘ We are unworthy servants. We have done our duty.’”

For if I preach the gospel, I have no reason for boasting, because I am compelled to do this. Woe to me if I do not preach the gospel!For if I do this voluntarily, I have a reward. But if I do it unwillingly, I am entrusted with a responsibility.

In the same way, you who are younger, be subject to the elders. And all of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.And God will exalt you in due time, if you humble yourselves under his mighty hand

For I am the least of the apostles, unworthy to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me has not been in vain. In fact, I worked harder than all of them– yet not I, but the grace of God with me.

All have turned away, together they have become worthless; there is no one who shows kindness, not even one.”

Or who has first given to God, that God needs to repay him?

If you sin, how does it affect God? If your transgressions are many, what does it do to him?If you are righteous, what do you give to God, or what does he receive from your hand?

“ Is it to God that a strong man is of benefit? Is it to him that even a wise man is profitable?Is it of any special benefit to the Almighty that you should be righteous, or is it any gain to him that you make your ways blameless?

We are all like one who is unclean, all our so-called righteous acts are like a menstrual rag in your sight. We all wither like a leaf; our sins carry us away like the wind.

May their path be dark and slippery, as the LORD’s angel chases them!I did not harm them, but they hid a net to catch me and dug a pit to trap me.

And throw that worthless slave into the outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’

“ But who am I and who are my people, that we should be in a position to contribute this much? Indeed, everything comes from you, and we have simply given back to you what is yours.For we are resident foreigners and nomads in your presence, like all our ancestors; our days are like a shadow on the earth, without security.O LORD our God, all this wealth, which we have collected to build a temple for you to honor your holy name, comes from you; it all belongs to you.

I say to the LORD,“ You are the Lord, my only source of well-being.”As for God’s chosen people who are in the land, and the leading officials I admired so much–

I said,“ Too bad for me! I am destroyed, for my lips are contaminated by sin, and I live among people whose lips are contaminated by sin. My eyes have seen the king, the LORD who commands armies.”

More than that, I now regard all things as liabilities compared to the far greater value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things– indeed, I regard them as dung!– that I may gain Christ,and be found in him, not because I have my own righteousness derived from the law, but because I have the righteousness that comes by way of Christ’s faithfulness– a righteousness from God that is in fact based on Christ’s faithfulness.

All a person’s ways seem right in his own opinion, but the LORD evaluates the motives.Commit your works to the LORD, and your plans will be established.

Then the righteous will answer him,‘ Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink?When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or naked and clothe you?When did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’And the king will answer them,‘ I tell you the truth, just as you did it for one of the least of these brothers or sisters of mine, you did it for me.’

who was formerly useless to you, but is now useful to you and me.
