One day Jesus said to his disciples,“ There will always be temptations to sin, but what sorrow awaits the person who does the tempting!

耶穌對他的門徒說：『要使絆跌的事不來、是不可能的；由他而來的、那人有禍啊！

耶穌對他的門徒們說：「那些使人絆腳的事必然出現，不過使它出現的人有禍了。

耶穌謂門徒曰、陷人於罪之事、必不能無、而陷人於罪者、禍矣、

耶穌復謂門徒曰：『厲階之生、在所不免；然而甘為厲階者、禍莫大焉！

Jesus said to his disciples:“ Things that cause people to stumble are bound to come, but woe to anyone through whom they come.

Jesus spoke to his disciples.“ Things that make people sin are sure to come,” he said.“ But how terrible it will be for anyone who causes those things to come!

And he said to his disciples,“ Temptations to sin are sure to come, but woe to the one through whom they come!

He said to his disciples,“ Offenses will certainly come, but woe to the one through whom they come!

Now He said to His disciples,“ It is inevitable that stumbling blocks come, but woe to one through whom they come!

Then He said to the disciples,“ It is impossible that no offenses should come, but woe to him through whom they do come!

And he said unto his disciples, It is impossible but that occasions of stumbling should come; but woe unto him, through whom they come!

He said to His disciples,“ Offenses will certainly come, but woe to the one they come through!

Then said he unto the disciples, It is impossible but that offences will come: but woe[ unto him], through whom they come!

Jesus said to his disciples,“ Stumbling blocks are sure to come, but woe to the one through whom they come!

He said to the disciples,“ It is impossible that no occasions of stumbling should come, but woe to him through whom they come!

“ What sorrow awaits the world, because it tempts people to sin. Temptations are inevitable, but what sorrow awaits the person who does the tempting.

But, of course, there must be divisions among you so that you who have God’s approval will be recognized!

So let’s stop condemning each other. Decide instead to live in such a way that you will not cause another believer to stumble and fall.

And now I make one more appeal, my dear brothers and sisters. Watch out for people who cause divisions and upset people’s faith by teaching things contrary to what you have been taught. Stay away from them.

So if what I eat causes another believer to sin, I will never eat meat again as long as I live— for I don’t want to cause another believer to stumble.

Don’t tear apart the work of God over what you eat. Remember, all foods are acceptable, but it is wrong to eat something if it makes another person stumble.It is better not to eat meat or drink wine or do anything else if it might cause another believer to stumble.

Jesus turned to Peter and said,“ Get away from me, Satan! You are a dangerous trap to me. You are seeing things merely from a human point of view, not from God’s.”

Don’t give offense to Jews or Gentiles or the church of God.

He will use every kind of evil deception to fool those on their way to destruction, because they refuse to love and accept the truth that would save them.So God will cause them to be greatly deceived, and they will believe these lies.Then they will be condemned for enjoying evil rather than believing the truth.

And with all the miracles he was allowed to perform on behalf of the first beast, he deceived all the people who belong to this world. He ordered the people to make a great statue of the first beast, who was fatally wounded and then came back to life.He was then permitted to give life to this statue so that it could speak. Then the statue of the beast commanded that anyone refusing to worship it must die.He required everyone— small and great, rich and poor, free and slave— to be given a mark on the right hand or on the forehead.And no one could buy or sell anything without that mark, which was either the name of the beast or the number representing his name.Wisdom is needed here. Let the one with understanding solve the meaning of the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man. His number is 666.

“ But I have a few complaints against you. You tolerate some among you whose teaching is like that of Balaam, who showed Balak how to trip up the people of Israel. He taught them to sin by eating food offered to idols and by committing sexual sin.

“ But I have this complaint against you. You are permitting that woman— that Jezebel who calls herself a prophet— to lead my servants astray. She teaches them to commit sexual sin and to eat food offered to idols.
