Now there was leaning on Jesus’ bosom one of his disciples, whom Jesus loved.

For the sun is no sooner risen with a burning heat, but it withereth the grass, and the flower thereof falleth, and the grace of the fashion of it perisheth: so also shall the rich man fade away in his ways.

They that trust in their wealth, and boast themselves in the multitude of their riches;None[ of them] can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him:( For the redemption of their soul[ is] precious, and it ceaseth for ever:)That he should still live for ever,[ and] not see corruption.For he seeth[ that] wise men die, likewise the fool and the brutish person perish, and leave their wealth to others.Their inward thought[ is, that] their houses[ shall continue] for ever,[ and] their dwelling places to all generations; they call[ their] lands after their own names.Nevertheless man[ being] in honour abideth not: he is like the beasts[ that] perish.

Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven.

They spend their days in wealth, and in a moment go down to the grave.

Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?

Surely thou didst set them in slippery places: thou castedst them down into destruction.How are they[ brought] into desolation, as in a moment! they are utterly consumed with terrors.As a dream when[ one] awaketh;[ so], O Lord, when thou awakest, thou shalt despise their image.

The righteous perisheth, and no man layeth[ it] to heart: and merciful men[ are] taken away, none considering that the righteous is taken away from the evil[ to come].He shall enter into peace: they shall rest in their beds,[ each one] walking[ in] his uprightness.

And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

All the kings of the nations,[ even] all of them, lie in glory, every one in his own house.

Then Peter, turning about, seeth the disciple whom Jesus loved following; which also leaned on his breast at supper, and said, Lord, which is he that betrayeth thee?

For now should I have lain still and been quiet, I should have slept: then had I been at rest,With kings and counsellors of the earth, which built desolate places for themselves;Or with princes that had gold, who filled their houses with silver:Or as an hidden untimely birth I had not been; as infants[ which] never saw light.There the wicked cease[ from] troubling; and there the weary be at rest.[ There] the prisoners rest together; they hear not the voice of the oppressor.The small and great are there; and the servant[ is] free from his master.

But God said unto him,[ Thou] fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?

And when he was come in, he did eat and drink, and said, Go, see now this cursed[ woman], and bury her: for she[ is] a king’s daughter.And they went to bury her: but they found no more of her than the skull, and the feet, and the palms of[ her] hands.

Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;

That the wicked is reserved to the day of destruction? they shall be brought forth to the day of wrath.Who shall declare his way to his face? and who shall repay him[ what] he hath done?Yet shall he be brought to the grave, and shall remain in the tomb.

The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked[ one];The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels.As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world.The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity;And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.

And I say unto you, That many shall come from the east and west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven.
