At his gate was laid a beggar named Lazarus, covered with sores

A man named Lazarus was placed at his gate. Lazarus was a beggar. His body was covered with sores.

As they approached the Temple, a man lame from birth was being carried in. Each day he was put beside the Temple gate, the one called the Beautiful Gate, so he could beg from the people going into the Temple.

Believers who are poor have something to boast about, for God has honored them.

So Satan left the Lord’s presence, and he struck Job with terrible boils from head to foot.

As Lazarus lay there longing for scraps from the rich man’s table, the dogs would come and lick his open sores.

Listen to me, dear brothers and sisters. Hasn’t God chosen the poor in this world to be rich in faith? Aren’t they the ones who will inherit the Kingdom he promised to those who love him?

A man named Lazarus was sick. He lived in Bethany with his sisters, Mary and Martha.

You are battered from head to foot— covered with bruises, welts, and infected wounds— without any soothing ointments or bandages.

The righteous person faces many troubles, but the Lord comes to the rescue each time.

I get nothing but trouble all day long; every morning brings me pain.

He lifts the poor from the dust and the needy from the garbage dump. He sets them among princes, placing them in seats of honor. For all the earth is the Lord’s, and he has set the world in order.

As Jesus approached Jericho, a blind beggar was sitting beside the road.When he heard the noise of a crowd going past, he asked what was happening.They told him that Jesus the Nazarene was going by.So he began shouting,“ Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”“ Be quiet!” the people in front yelled at him. But he only shouted louder,“ Son of David, have mercy on me!”When Jesus heard him, he stopped and ordered that the man be brought to him. As the man came near, Jesus asked him,“ What do you want me to do for you?”“ Lord,” he said,“ I want to see!”And Jesus said,“ All right, receive your sight! Your faith has healed you.”Instantly the man could see, and he followed Jesus, praising God. And all who saw it praised God, too.

Is there no medicine in Gilead? Is there no physician there? Why is there no healing for the wounds of my people?
