A man named Lazarus was placed at his gate. Lazarus was a beggar. His body was covered with sores.

And at his gate was laid a poor man named Lazarus, covered with sores,

At his gate lay a poor man named Lazarus who was covered with sores.

But a poor man named Lazarus, covered with sores, was lying at his gate.

And a poor man named Lazarus was laid at his gate, covered with sores,

But there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, full of sores, who was laid at his gate,

A certain beggar, named Lazarus, was taken to his gate, full of sores,

Now a man who was lame from birth was being carried to the temple gate called Beautiful, where he was put every day to beg from those going into the temple courts.

Believers in humble circumstances ought to take pride in their high position.

So Satan went out from the presence of the Lord and afflicted Job with painful sores from the soles of his feet to the crown of his head.

and longing to eat what fell from the rich man’s table. Even the dogs came and licked his sores.

Listen, my dear brothers and sisters: Has not God chosen those who are poor in the eyes of the world to be rich in faith and to inherit the kingdom he promised those who love him?

Now a man named Lazarus was sick. He was from Bethany, the village of Mary and her sister Martha.

From the sole of your foot to the top of your head there is no soundness— only wounds and welts and open sores, not cleansed or bandaged or soothed with olive oil.

The righteous person may have many troubles, but the Lord delivers him from them all;

All day long I have been afflicted, and every morning brings new punishments.

He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from the ash heap; he seats them with princes and has them inherit a throne of honor.“ For the foundations of the earth are the Lord’s; on them he has set the world.

As Jesus approached Jericho, a blind man was sitting by the roadside begging.When he heard the crowd going by, he asked what was happening.They told him,“ Jesus of Nazareth is passing by.”He called out,“ Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”Those who led the way rebuked him and told him to be quiet, but he shouted all the more,“ Son of David, have mercy on me!”Jesus stopped and ordered the man to be brought to him. When he came near, Jesus asked him,“ What do you want me to do for you?”“ Lord, I want to see,” he replied.Jesus said to him,“ Receive your sight; your faith has healed you.”Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus, praising God. When all the people saw it, they also praised God.

Is there no balm in Gilead? Is there no physician there? Why then is there no healing for the wound of my people?
