凡出妻而另娶者、姦也。娶人所出之妻者、亦姦也。

“ Anyone who divorces his wife and marries another woman commits adultery, and the man who marries a divorced woman commits adultery.

“ For example, a man who divorces his wife and marries someone else commits adultery. And anyone who marries a woman divorced from her husband commits adultery.”

“ It has been said,‘ Suppose a man divorces his wife. If he does, he must give her a letter of divorce.’( Deuteronomy 24:1)But here is what I tell you. Anyone who divorces his wife makes her a victim of adultery. And anyone who gets married to the divorced woman commits adultery. A man may divorce his wife only if she has not been faithful to him.

I give a command to those who are married. It is a direct command from the Lord, not from me. A wife must not leave her husband.But if she does, she must not get married again. Or she can go back to her husband. And a husband must not divorce his wife.I also have something to say to everyone else. It is from me, not a direct command from the Lord. Suppose a brother has a wife who is not a believer. If she is willing to live with him, he must not divorce her.

The wife’s body does not belong only to her. It also belongs to her husband. In the same way, the husband’s body does not belong only to him. It also belongs to his wife.
