「天國近了，你們應當悔改！」

你們出去，究竟是要看甚麼？要看先知嗎？我告訴你們，是的，他比先知大多了。經上記着說：『我要差遣我的使者在你前面預備道路』，所說的就是這個人。我告訴你們，凡婦人所生的，沒有一個大過約翰的；然而神國裏最小的比他還大。」眾百姓和稅吏既受過約翰的洗，聽見這話，就以神為義；

腓力找着拿但業，對他說：「摩西在律法上所寫的和眾先知所記的那一位，我們遇見了，就是約瑟的兒子拿撒勒人耶穌。」

隨走隨傳，說『天國近了！』

從那時候，耶穌就傳起道來，說：「天國近了，你們應當悔改！」

約翰下監以後，耶穌來到加利利，宣傳神的福音，

從撒母耳以來的眾先知，凡說預言的，也都說到這些日子。你們是先知的子孫，也承受神與你們祖宗所立的約，就是對亞伯拉罕說：『地上萬族都要因你的後裔得福。』

說：『就是你們城裏的塵土黏在我們的腳上，我們也當着你們擦去。雖然如此，你們該知道神的國臨近了。』

但神曾藉眾先知的口，預言基督將要受害，就這樣應驗了。

要醫治那城裏的病人，對他們說：『神的國臨近你們了。』

又差遣他們去宣傳神國的道，醫治病人，

亞伯拉罕說：『若不聽從摩西和先知的話，就是有一個從死裏復活的，他們也是不聽勸。』」

亞伯拉罕說：『他們有摩西和先知的話可以聽從。』

若這樣由着他，人人都要信他，羅馬人也要來奪我們的地土和我們的百姓。」

法利賽人彼此說：「看哪，你們是徒勞無益，世人都隨從他去了。」

耶穌走遍加利利，在各會堂裏教訓人，傳天國的福音，醫治百姓各樣的病症。

那人出去，倒說許多的話，把這件事傳揚開了，叫耶穌以後不得再明明地進城，只好在外邊曠野地方。人從各處都就了他來。
