因为约翰来到你们这里指明义的道路，你们不相信他，而那些税吏和妓女们却相信了他。你们虽然看见了，后来还是没有悔改去相信他。

说：“你们应当悔改，因为天国近了。”

你们出去，究竟是要看什么呢？一位先知吗？是的，我告诉你们：他比先知还大。他就是经上记载的那个人：‘看哪，我要差派我的使者在你前头，他要在你之前预备你的道。’“我告诉你们：在女人所生的人中，没有一个比约翰更大的；然而在神的国里，再小的也比约翰更大。”所有已经受过约翰洗礼的民众和税吏，听了这话，都承认神是义的；

腓力找到拿旦业，对他说：“我们发现了摩西在律法上所写的，和先知们所记的那一位。他就是约瑟的儿子，拿撒勒人耶稣。”

你们去的时候，要传讲说‘天国近了。’

从那时候起，耶稣开始传道，说：“你们应当悔改，因为天国近了。”

约翰被逮捕以后，耶稣来到加利利，传神的福音，

“其实从撒母耳以来所有的先知，只要说预言，都同样地预告了这些日子。你们是先知们的子孙，也是神与你们祖先所订立之约的子孙。那时神对亚伯拉罕说：‘藉着你的那位后裔，地上万族都要蒙祝福。’

‘连那沾在我们脚上的你们城里的尘土，我们也要当着你们擦掉，不过你们应当知道：神的国近了。’

但神藉着众先知的口所预言的，就是基督要受难的事，就这样应验了。

你们要使那城里的病人痊愈，并且要对他们说‘神的国临近你们了。’

然后差派他们去宣讲神的国，并且使病人痊愈。

“可是亚伯拉罕对他说：‘如果他们不听从摩西和先知们，就算有人从死人中复活，他们也不会被说服的。’

“但是亚伯拉罕说：‘你的兄弟们有摩西和先知们，让你的兄弟们听从他们吧。’

如果任凭他这样下去，大家都会信他，罗马人就会来，夺取我们的圣地和国家！”

于是法利赛人互相说：“可见你们真没用！看，这世界都跟随他去了。”

耶稣走遍全加利利，在他们的会堂里教导人，传天国的福音，并且使民中各样的疾病和各样的症状痊愈。

但那个人一出去，就开始大加宣扬，把这件事传开了，结果耶稣不能再公开进城，只好留在外面荒僻的地方。可是人们还是从各处来到他那里。
