說：“天國近了，你們應當悔改。”

那麼，你們出去要看甚麼？先知嗎？我告訴你們，是的。他比先知重要得多了。聖經所記：‘看哪，我差遣我的使者在你面前，他必在你前頭預備你的道路’，這句話是指著他說的。我告訴你們，婦人所生的，沒有一個比約翰更大，然而在神的國裡最小的比他還大。”眾人和稅吏受過約翰的洗禮，聽見這話，就稱神為義。

腓力找到拿但業，告訴他：“摩西在律法書上所寫的，和眾先知所記的那位，我們已經遇見了，他就是約瑟的兒子拿撒勒人耶穌。”

你們要一邊走一邊宣揚說：‘天國近了。’

從那時起，耶穌就開始傳道，說：“天國近了，你們應當悔改。”

約翰被捕以後，耶穌來到加利利，宣講神的福音，

所有從撒母耳起，以及相繼興起來講話的先知，都曾經宣告這些日子。你們是先知的子孫，也是承受神向你們祖先所立之約的人。神曾經對亞伯拉罕說：‘地上萬族，都要因你的後裔得福。’

‘連你們城裡那黏在我們腳上的塵土，我們也要當著你們擦去。雖然這樣，你們應該知道：神的國臨近了！’

但神曾經藉著眾先知的口，預先宣告他所立的基督將要受害的事，就這樣應驗了。

要醫治城中的病人，對他們宣講：‘神的國臨近你們了。’

差遣他們去宣講神的國和醫治病人，

亞伯拉罕說：‘如果他們不聽從摩西和先知，就算有一個從死人中復活的人，他們也不會接受勸告。’”

亞伯拉罕說：‘他們有摩西和先知可以聽從。’

我們若讓他這樣，所有的人都會信他，羅馬人就會來，奪取我們的聖地，除滅我們的民族。”

於是法利賽人彼此說：“你們看，你們都是徒勞無功，世人都去跟隨他了！”

耶穌走遍加利利，在各會堂裡教導人，宣揚天國的福音，醫治民間各種疾病、各種病症。

但那人出來，竟任意傳講，就把這事傳開了，以致耶穌不能再公開進城，只好留在外邊荒野的地方；然而還是有人從各處到他那裡去。
