约翰来到你们那里，指示你们行义路﹙或译：“约翰在义路中，来到你们这里”。﹚，你们不信他；税吏和娼妓却信了他。你们看见了之后，还是没有改变心意去信他。

说：“天国近了，你们应当悔改。”

那么，你们出去要看什么？先知吗？我告诉你们，是的。他比先知重要得多了。圣经所记：‘看哪，我差遣我的使者在你面前，他必在你前头预备你的道路’，这句话是指着他说的。我告诉你们，妇人所生的，没有一个比约翰更大，然而在神的国里最小的比他还大。”众人和税吏受过约翰的洗礼，听见这话，就称神为义。

腓力找到拿但业，告诉他：“摩西在律法书上所写的，和众先知所记的那位，我们已经遇见了，他就是约瑟的儿子拿撒勒人耶稣。”

你们要一边走一边宣扬说：‘天国近了。’

从那时起，耶稣就开始传道，说：“天国近了，你们应当悔改。”

约翰被捕以后，耶稣来到加利利，宣讲神的福音，

所有从撒母耳起，以及相继兴起来讲话的先知，都曾经宣告这些日子。你们是先知的子孙，也是承受神向你们祖先所立之约的人。神曾经对亚伯拉罕说：‘地上万族，都要因你的后裔得福。’

‘连你们城里那黏在我们脚上的尘土，我们也要当着你们擦去。虽然这样，你们应该知道：神的国临近了！’

但神曾经藉着众先知的口，预先宣告他所立的基督将要受害的事，就这样应验了。

要医治城中的病人，对他们宣讲：‘神的国临近你们了。’

差遣他们去宣讲神的国和医治病人，

亚伯拉罕说：‘如果他们不听从摩西和先知，就算有一个从死人中复活的人，他们也不会接受劝告。’”

亚伯拉罕说：‘他们有摩西和先知可以听从。’

我们若让他这样，所有的人都会信他，罗马人就会来，夺取我们的圣地，除灭我们的民族。”

于是法利赛人彼此说：“你们看，你们都是徒劳无功，世人都去跟随他了！”

耶稣走遍加利利，在各会堂里教导人，宣扬天国的福音，医治民间各种疾病、各种病症。

但那人出来，竟任意传讲，就把这事传开了，以致耶稣不能再公开进城，只好留在外边荒野的地方；然而还是有人从各处到他那里去。
