“悔改吧，因为天国临近了！”

你们究竟想看什么？看先知吗？是的，我告诉你们，他不只是先知。圣经上说，‘看啊，我要差遣我的使者在你前面为你预备道路。’这里所指的就是约翰。我告诉你们，凡妇人所生的，没有一个比约翰大，但上帝国中最微不足道的也比他大。”众百姓和税吏听了这番话，都承认上帝是公义的，因为他们接受了约翰的洗礼。

腓力去找拿但业，对他说：“我们遇见了摩西律法书和先知书记载的那位！祂是约瑟的儿子耶稣，从拿撒勒来的。”

“你们要边走边传，‘天国临近了！’

从那时起，耶稣开始传道：“悔改吧，因为天国临近了！”

约翰被捕后，耶稣来到加利利宣讲上帝的福音，说：

“从撒母耳到后来的所有先知都宣告过这些日子。你们是先知的子孙，也承受了上帝和你们祖先所立的约。上帝曾对亚伯拉罕说，‘天下万族必因你的后裔而蒙福。’

‘就连你们城里的尘土粘在我们脚上，我们都要跺掉，但是要知道，上帝的国临近了。’

但是上帝早已借众先知预言基督要受害，这事果然应验了。

要医治那城里的病人，告诉他们，‘上帝的国临近你们了。’

又差遣他们出去宣讲上帝国的福音、医治病人。

“亚伯拉罕说，‘如果他们不听从摩西和众先知的话，即使一个人从死里复活，他们也不会信服。’”

“但是亚伯拉罕却说，‘他们可以听从摩西和众先知的话呀！’

如果让祂这样继续下去，所有的人都会信祂，那时罗马人一定会来夺取我们的土地，掳掠我们的人民。”

法利赛人彼此议论说：“我们真是枉费心思！你看，整个世界都跟着祂跑了。”

耶稣走遍加利利，在各个会堂里教导人，宣讲天国的福音，医治人们各样的疾病。

但那人离开之后，却到处传扬这件事，以致耶稣无法再公开进城。祂只能待在城外的旷野，可是人们仍从各处来找祂。
