你们这些淫乱的人哪！难道你们不知道，与世界为友，就是与神为敌吗？所以，如果有人想要和世界做朋友，他就成了神的仇敌！

“如果有人到我这里来，而不恨自己的父亲、母亲、妻子、儿女、兄弟、姐妹，甚至自己的生命，他就不能做我的门徒。

要知道，顺着肉体的人，思想属肉体的事；顺着圣灵的人，思想属圣灵的事。属肉体的思想带来死亡；属圣灵的思想带来生命和平安。原来属肉体的思想是敌对神的，因为它不服从神的律法，其实也不能服从；并且，属肉体的人无法得到神的喜悦。

不与我在一起的，就是在反对我；不与我一起收集的，就是在拆散。

我告诉你们：要藉着那不义的财富为自己结交朋友，这样当财富无用的时候，你们会被接到永恒的居所里。

耶稣对他说：“撒旦，退去！因为经上记着：‘要敬拜主——你的神，唯独事奉他。’”

你们难道不知道吗？你们把自己献上做奴仆去顺从谁，那么，顺从谁就是谁的奴仆：或做罪的奴仆，以至于死；或做顺从的奴仆，以致称义。感谢神！虽然你们过去是罪的奴仆，但现在却从心里顺从了所传给你们的教导内容，从罪中得了释放，成为义的奴仆。因着你们肉体的软弱，我就按照人的说法来讲，那就是，你们从前怎样把身体的各部分献给污秽和罪恶做奴仆，以致罪恶；现在也要照样把你们身体的各部分献给义做奴仆，以致分别为圣。原来，你们做罪的奴仆时，不受义的管束；那么，在你们现在看为羞耻的那些事上，你们当时到底得了什么果子呢？那些事的结局就是死。但如今，你们既从罪中得了释放，成为神的奴仆，就得了果子，以致分别为圣，那结局就是永恒的生命。

耶稣对他说：“不要阻止他，因为不反对你们的，就是支持你们的。”
