因我這兒子是死而復活、失而復得的。』於是他們歡宴慶祝。

你們從前死在過犯和罪惡之中。那時，你們隨從今世的風俗，順服在空中掌權的魔鬼，就是如今在一切叛逆上帝之人心中運行的邪靈。我們以前也在他們當中隨從罪惡的本性，放縱肉體和心中的私慾，與其他人一樣本是惹上帝發怒的人。然而上帝有豐富的憐憫，祂深愛我們，儘管我們死在過犯之中，祂仍然使我們和基督一同活了過來。你們得救是因為上帝的恩典。在基督耶穌裡，上帝使我們與基督一同復活，一同坐在天上，好藉著祂在基督耶穌裡向我們所施的恩慈，向後世顯明祂無可比擬的豐富恩典。你們得救是靠恩典，憑信心。這不是出於你們自己，而是上帝的禮物；也不是由於你們的行為，以免有人自誇。我們是上帝的傑作，是在基督耶穌裡創造的，為要叫我們做祂預先安排給我們的美善之事。

耶和華說：「這棵蓖麻不是你種的，也不是你栽培的，它在一夜之間長成，又在一夜之間死去，你尚且如此愛惜，我怎能不愛惜這尼尼微大城呢？城中單是連左右手都分不清的人就有十二萬多，還有許多的牲畜。」

求你讓我聽到歡喜快樂的聲音，讓我這被你壓碎的骨頭可以歡跳。

耶和華救贖的子民必歡唱著回到錫安，洋溢著永遠的快樂。他們必歡喜快樂，憂愁和歎息都消失無蹤。

讓那些智者明白這一切，讓那些明哲瞭解這一切。因為耶和華的道是正道，義人要行走在上面，罪人卻在上面跌倒。

當然不會！縱然人人都撒謊，上帝仍然真實可靠。正如聖經上說：「你的判語證明你是公義的；你雖被人控告，卻終必得勝。」

人子來了，又吃又喝，你們就說，『看啊，祂是個貪吃好酒之徒，與稅吏和罪人爲友！』

使外族人也因祂的憐憫而將榮耀歸給上帝。正如聖經上說：「因此，我要在列邦中讚美你，歌頌你的名。」又說：「外族人啊，你們當與主的子民一同歡樂。」又說：「萬邦啊，你們當讚美主！萬民啊，你們當頌讚祂！」以賽亞先知也說：「將來耶西的根要興起，祂要統治外族，外族人都要仰望祂。」願使人有盼望的上帝，因為你們信祂，將諸般的喜樂和平安充滿你們的心，使你們藉著聖靈的能力充滿盼望！

我們知道律法所講的都是針對律法之下的人，好叫所有的人都無話可說，使全世界都伏在上帝的審判之下。
