And he said to him,‘ Son, you are always with me, and all that is mine is yours.

「父親對他說，『孩子啊！你一直在我身邊，我所有的一切都是你的。

父親對他說：‘孩子，你常跟我在一起，我的一切都是你的。

「父親對他說：『孩子啊，你一直與我在一起，我的一切都是你的。

父曰、子乎、爾常偕我、我所有者、

父曰：「兒乎、汝常與予偕、予之所有、皆汝之所有也。汝弟則死而復生、失而復得、故宜歡忻鼓舞、而慶祝之。」』

“‘ My son,’ the father said,‘ you are always with me, and everything I have is yours.

“ His father said to him,‘ Look, dear son, you have always stayed by me, and everything I have is yours.

And he said unto him, Son, thou art ever with me, and all that is mine is thine.

Then the father said to him,‘ Son, you are always with me, and everything that belongs to me is yours.

“ He said to him,‘ Son, you are always with me, and all that is mine is yours.

They are Israelites, and to them belong the adoption, the glory, the covenants, the giving of the law, the worship, and the promises.

I ask, then, has God rejected his people? By no means! For I myself am an Israelite, a descendant of Abraham, a member of the tribe of Benjamin.

And he said to her,“ Let the children be fed first, for it is not right to take the children’s bread and throw it to the dogs.”But she answered him,“ Yes, Lord; yet even the dogs under the table eat the children’s crumbs.”

But he replied to one of them,‘ Friend, I am doing you no wrong. Did you not agree with me for a denarius?Take what belongs to you and go. I choose to give to this last worker as I give to you.Am I not allowed to do what I choose with what belongs to me? Or do you begrudge my generosity?’So the last will be first, and the first last.”

He said to him,‘ I will condemn you with your own words, you wicked servant! You knew that I was a severe man, taking what I did not deposit and reaping what I did not sow?Why then did you not put my money in the bank, and at my coming I might have collected it with interest?’

“ Or who has given a gift to him that he might be repaid?”
