「父親對他說，『孩子啊！你一直在我身邊，我所有的一切都是你的。

「父親對他說：『孩子啊，你一直與我在一起，我的一切都是你的。

父曰、子乎、爾常偕我、我所有者、

父曰：「兒乎、汝常與予偕、予之所有、皆汝之所有也。汝弟則死而復生、失而復得、故宜歡忻鼓舞、而慶祝之。」』

And he said unto him, Son, thou art ever with me, and all that is mine is thine.

Then the father said to him,‘ Son, you are always with me, and everything that belongs to me is yours.

“ He said to him,‘ Son, you are always with me, and all that is mine is yours.

They are Israelites, and to them belong the adoption, the glory, the covenants, the giving of the law, the temple service, and the promises.

I ask, then, has God rejected his people? Absolutely not! For I too am an Israelite, a descendant of Abraham, from the tribe of Benjamin.

He said to her,“ Let the children be fed first, because it isn’t right to take the children’s bread and throw it to the dogs.”But she replied to him,“ Lord, even the dogs under the table eat the children’s crumbs.”

“ He replied to one of them,‘ Friend, I’m doing you no wrong. Didn’t you agree with me on a denarius?Take what’s yours and go. I want to give this last man the same as I gave you.Don’t I have the right to do what I want with what is mine? Are you jealous because I’m generous?’“ So the last will be first, and the first last.”

“ He told him,‘ I will condemn you by what you have said, you evil servant! If you knew I was a harsh man, collecting what I didn’t deposit and reaping what I didn’t sow,why, then, didn’t you put my money in the bank? And when I returned, I would have collected it with interest.’

And who has ever given to God, that he should be repaid?
