This made the Pharisees and teachers of religious law complain that he was associating with such sinful people— even eating with them!

蓋有自雅各來者未至時、彼與異邦人同食、及至、則退而自別、畏受割者也、

昔我以書遺爾、勿與淫者交、然非概謂斯世之淫者、與貪婪、殘酷、拜像者、若然、則爾必離乎世矣、今我以書遺爾、若有名為兄弟、而淫亂、貪婪、拜像、詬詈、沉湎、殘酷、則勿與之交、亦勿與之共食、

長子謂父曰、我事爾多年、從無違命、而爾未嘗賜我一羔、俾我與友同樂、惟爾此子、狎妓盡耗爾產、彼至、乃為之宰肥犢也、
