But the Pharisees and the teachers of the law muttered,“ This man welcomes sinners and eats with them.”

But the Pharisees and the teachers of the law were whispering among themselves. They said,“ This man welcomes sinners and eats with them.”

And the Pharisees and the scribes grumbled, saying,“ This man receives sinners and eats with them.”

This made the Pharisees and teachers of religious law complain that he was associating with such sinful people— even eating with them!

法利賽人看見，就對耶穌的門徒說：「你們的先生為甚麼和稅吏並罪人一同吃飯呢？」

眾人看見，都私下議論說：「他竟到罪人家裏去住宿。」

請耶穌的法利賽人看見這事，心裏說：「這人若是先知，必知道摸他的是誰，是個怎樣的女人；乃是個罪人。」

人子來，也吃也喝，你們說他是貪食好酒的人，是稅吏和罪人的朋友。

「你進入未受割禮之人的家和他們一同吃飯了。」

法利賽人和文士就向耶穌的門徒發怨言說：「你們為甚麼和稅吏並罪人一同吃喝呢？」

從雅各那裏來的人未到以先，他和外邦人一同吃飯，及至他們來到，他因怕奉割禮的人，就退去與外邦人隔開了。

我先前寫信給你們說，不可與淫亂的人相交。此話不是指這世上一概行淫亂的，或貪婪的，勒索的，或拜偶像的；若是這樣，你們除非離開世界方可。但如今我寫信給你們說，若有稱為弟兄是行淫亂的，或貪婪的，或拜偶像的，或辱罵的，或醉酒的，或勒索的，這樣的人不可與他相交，就是與他吃飯都不可。

他對父親說：『我服事你這多年，從來沒有違背過你的命，你並沒有給我一隻山羊羔，叫我和朋友一同快樂。但你這個兒子和娼妓吞盡了你的產業，他一來了，你倒為他宰了肥牛犢。』
