This made the Pharisees and teachers of religious law complain that he was associating with such sinful people— even eating with them!

法利賽人看見了，就對他的門徒說：“你們的老師為甚麼跟稅吏和罪人一起吃飯呢？”

眾人看見就紛紛議論說：“他竟到罪人家裡去住宿！”

請他的法利賽人看見了，心裡說：“這人若是先知，必定知道摸他的是誰，是怎樣的女人，因為她是個罪人！”

人子來了，又吃又喝，你們說：‘你看，這人貪食好酒，與稅吏和罪人為友。’

說：“你竟然到未受割禮的人那裡，跟他們一起吃飯！”

法利賽人和經學家埋怨他的門徒，說：“你們為甚麼跟稅吏和罪人一起吃喝呢？”

從雅各那裡來的人還沒有到以前，他和外族人一同吃飯；但他們來到了，他因為怕那些守割禮的人，就從外族人中退出來，和他們分開。

我以前寫信告訴你們，不可與淫亂的人來往。這話當然不是指這世上行淫亂的、貪心的、勒索的，或拜偶像的人；如果是這樣，你們就非脫離這世界不可。但現在我寫信告訴你們，如果有稱為弟兄，卻是行淫亂、貪心、拜偶像、辱罵人、醉酒或勒索的，這樣的人，不可和他來往，連和他吃飯都不可。

他對父親說：‘你看，我服事你這麼多年，從來沒有違背過你的命令，可是你沒有給我一隻山羊羔，叫我和朋友一同歡樂。但你這個兒子，常常跟娼妓在一起，花盡了你的財產，他一回來，你倒為他宰殺肥牛犢！’
