“ When he finally came to his senses, he said to himself,‘ At home even the hired servants have food enough to spare, and here I am dying of hunger!

可是他醒悟过来的时候，就说：‘我父亲那么多的雇工都食物充足，我却要在这里饿死吗？

他回悟過來，就說：「我父親有多少雇工，食物充足有餘，我倒在這裏因饑餓而喪命啊？

可是他醒悟過來的時候，就說：『我父親那麼多的雇工都食物充足，我卻要在這裡餓死嗎？

既而悟曰、我父若許傭人、其糧有餘、我乃於此飢而死耶、

悔曰、我父若多傭人、其糧有餘、我乃饑而死乎、

既而省悟曰、我父傭人甚多、其糧有餘、而我餓死乎、

因自反曰：「父家多少傭工、皆得飽食而有餘、而吾將為他鄉之餓殍矣、

“ When he came to his senses, he said,‘ How many of my father’s hired servants have food to spare, and here I am starving to death!

“ Then he began to think clearly again. He said,‘ How many of my father’s hired servants have more than enough food! But here I am dying from hunger!

“ But when he came to himself, he said,‘ How many of my father’s hired servants have more than enough bread, but I perish here with hunger!

When he came to his senses, he said,‘ How many of my father’s hired workers have more than enough food, and here I am dying of hunger!

But when he came to his senses, he said,‘ How many of my father’s hired laborers have more than enough bread, but I am dying here from hunger!

“ But when he came to himself, he said,‘ How many of my father’s hired servants have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger!

But when he came to himself he said, How many hired servants of my father’s have bread enough and to spare, and I perish here with hunger!

When he came to his senses, he said,‘ How many of my father’s hired hands have more than enough food, and here I am dying of hunger!

And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father’s have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger!

They will live because they thought it over and decided to turn from their sins. Such people will not die.

But God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so much,that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead.( It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved!)

for the light makes everything visible. This is why it is said,“ Awake, O sleeper, rise up from the dead, and Christ will give you light.”

I will go home to my father and say,“ Father, I have sinned against both heaven and you,and I am no longer worthy of being called your son. Please take me on as a hired servant.”’

Many times I had them punished in the synagogues to get them to curse Jesus. I was so violently opposed to them that I even chased them down in foreign cities.“ One day I was on such a mission to Damascus, armed with the authority and commission of the leading priests.About noon, Your Majesty, as I was on the road, a light from heaven brighter than the sun shone down on me and my companions.We all fell down, and I heard a voice saying to me in Aramaic,‘ Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me? Yes, I am sending you to the Gentilesto open their eyes, so they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God. Then they will receive forgiveness for their sins and be given a place among God’s people, who are set apart by faith in me.’“ And so, King Agrippa, I obeyed that vision from heaven.

The jailer called for lights and ran to the dungeon and fell down trembling before Paul and Silas.Then he brought them out and asked,“ Sirs, what must I do to be saved?”

But— When God our Savior revealed his kindness and love,he saved us, not because of the righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He washed away our sins, giving us a new birth and new life through the Holy Spirit.He generously poured out the Spirit upon us through Jesus Christ our Savior.

People rushed out to see what had happened. A crowd soon gathered around Jesus, and they saw the man who had been freed from the demons. He was sitting at Jesus’ feet, fully clothed and perfectly sane, and they were all afraid.

Peter’s words pierced their hearts, and they said to him and to the other apostles,“ Brothers, what should we do?”

When you arise, O Lord, you will laugh at their silly ideas as a person laughs at dreams in the morning.

and he went to the place of the dead. There, in torment, he saw Abraham in the far distance with Lazarus at his side.

In the midst of her sadness and wandering, Jerusalem remembers her ancient splendor. But now she has fallen to her enemy, and there is no one to help her. Her enemy struck her down and laughed as she fell.

It seems so wrong that everyone under the sun suffers the same fate. Already twisted by evil, people choose their own mad course, for they have no hope. There is nothing ahead but death anyway.

I turned away from God, but then I was sorry. I kicked myself for my stupidity! I was thoroughly ashamed of all I did in my younger days.’

So don’t be misled, my dear brothers and sisters.Whatever is good and perfect is a gift coming down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens. He never changes or casts a shifting shadow.He chose to give birth to us by giving us his true word. And we, out of all creation, became his prized possession.
