He who loves pleasure will be a poor man. He who loves wine and oil won’t be rich.

Generation, consider Yahweh’s word. Have I been a wilderness to Israel? Or a land of thick darkness? Why do my people say,‘ We have broken loose. We will come to you no more?’

There is precious treasure and oil in the dwelling of the wise; but a foolish man swallows it up.

Remove your way far from her. Ah sinful nation, a people loaded with iniquity, offspring of evildoers, children who deal corruptly! They have forsaken Yahweh. They have despised the Holy One of Israel. They are estranged and backward.

As a bird that wanders from her nest, so is a man who wanders from his home.

He came and preached peace to you who were far off and to those who were near.

But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off are made near in the blood of Christ.
