骄傲来，羞耻也来；谦逊人却有智慧。

骄傲在败坏以先，内心高傲在跌倒之前。

智慧人必承受尊荣；愚昧人高升却是羞辱。

哈曼就进去。王对他说：“王所喜爱要赐尊荣的人，当如何待他呢？”哈曼心里说：“王所喜爱要赐尊荣的人，除了我，还有谁呢？”哈曼就对王说：“王所喜爱要赐尊荣的人，当把王所穿的王袍拿来，牵了戴冠的御马，把王袍和御马都交给王一个极尊贵的大臣，吩咐人把王袍给王所喜爱要赐尊荣的人穿上，领他骑着御马走遍城里的广场，在他面前宣告：‘王所喜爱要赐尊荣的人，就是这样待他。’”王对哈曼说：“你速速把这王袍和御马，照你所说的，向坐在朝门的犹太人末底改去做。凡你所说的，一样都不可缺。”于是哈曼把王袍给末底改穿上，领他骑着御马走遍城里的广场，在他面前宣告：“王所喜爱要赐尊荣的人，就是这样待他。”末底改仍回到朝门，哈曼却忧忧闷闷地蒙着头，急忙回家去了。

“人子啊，你要对推罗的君王说，主耶和华如此说：你心里高傲，说：‘我是神明；我在海中坐诸神之位。’虽然你把你的心比作神明的心，你却不过是人，并不是神明！看哪，你比但以理更有智慧，任何秘密都不能向你隐藏。你靠自己的智慧聪明得了财宝，把金银收入库房；你靠自己的大智慧以贸易增添财宝，又因你的财宝心里高傲；所以主耶和华如此说：因你把你的心比作神明的心，所以，看哪，我必使外国人，就是列国中凶暴的人临到你这里；他们要拔刀摧毁你用智慧得来的美物，污损你的荣光。他们必使你坠入地府；你要像被刺杀之人的死，死在海中。在杀你的人面前，你还能说‘我是神明’吗？在杀害你的人手中，你不过是人，并不是神明。你要死在陌生人手中，像未受割礼之人的死，因为我曾说过，这是主耶和华说的。”

王说：“这大巴比伦岂不是我用大能大力建为首都，要显示我威严的荣耀吗？”这话还在王口中的时候，有声音从天降下，说：“尼布甲尼撒王啊，有话对你说，你的国离开你了。你必被赶出离开世人，与野地的走兽同住，吃草如牛，且要经过七个时期；等你知道至高者在人的国中掌权，要将国赐给谁就赐给谁。”当时这话就应验在尼布甲尼撒身上，他被赶出离开世人，吃草如牛，身体被天上的露水滴湿，头发长得像鹰的羽毛，指甲长得像鸟爪。“时候到了，我—尼布甲尼撒举目望天，我的知识复归于我，我就称颂至高者，赞美尊敬活到永远的上帝。他的权柄存到永远，他的国度存到万代。
