主人請爾讓位、則赧然而就末座矣。

and the one who invited you both will come and say to you,‘ Give your place to this person,’ and then in disgrace you will proceed to occupy the last place.

and he who invited you and him come and say to you,‘ Give place to this man,’ and then you begin with shame to take the lowest place.

and he that bade thee and him shall come and say to thee, Give this man place; and then thou shalt begin with shame to take the lowest place.

The one who invited both of you may come and say to you,‘ Give your place to this man,’ and then in humiliation, you will proceed to take the lowest place.

So the host who invited both of you will come and say to you,‘ Give this man your place.’ Then, ashamed, you will begin to move to the least important place.

and he who invited both of you would come and tell you,‘ Make room for this person.’ Then you would begin, with shame, to take the lowest place.

骄傲来，羞耻也来；谦逊人却有智慧。

骄傲在败坏以先；狂心在跌倒之前。

智慧人必承受尊荣；愚昧人高升也成为羞辱。

哈曼就进去。王问他说：“王所喜悦尊荣的人，当如何待他呢？”哈曼心里说：“王所喜悦尊荣的，不是我是谁呢？”哈曼就回答说：“王所喜悦尊荣的，当将王常穿的朝服和戴冠的御马，都交给王极尊贵的一个大臣，命他将衣服给王所喜悦尊荣的人穿上，使他骑上马，走遍城里的街市，在他面前宣告说：王所喜悦尊荣的人，就如此待他。”王对哈曼说：“你速速将这衣服和马，照你所说的，向坐在朝门的犹大人末底改去行。凡你所说的，一样不可缺。”于是哈曼将朝服给末底改穿上，使他骑上马，走遍城里的街市，在他面前宣告说：“王所喜悦尊荣的人，就如此待他。”末底改仍回到朝门，哈曼却忧忧闷闷地蒙着头，急忙回家去了，

“人子啊，你对推罗君王说，主耶和华如此说：因你心里高傲，说：‘我是神；我在海中坐神之位。’你虽然居心自比神，也不过是人，并不是神！看哪，你比但以理更有智慧，什么秘事都不能向你隐藏。你靠自己的智慧聪明得了金银财宝，收入库中。你靠自己的大智慧和贸易增添资财，又因资财心里高傲。所以主耶和华如此说：因你居心自比神，我必使外邦人，就是列国中的强暴人临到你这里；他们必拔刀砍坏你用智慧得来的美物，亵渎你的荣光。他们必使你下坑；你必死在海中，与被杀的人一样。在杀你的人面前你还能说‘我是神’吗？其实你在杀害你的人手中，不过是人，并不是神。你必死在外邦人手中，与未受割礼的人一样，因为这是主耶和华说的。”

他说：“这大巴比伦不是我用大能大力建为京都，要显我威严的荣耀吗？”这话在王口中尚未说完，有声音从天降下，说：“尼布甲尼撒王啊，有话对你说，你的国位离开你了。你必被赶出离开世人，与野地的兽同居，吃草如牛，且要经过七期。等你知道至高者在人的国中掌权，要将国赐与谁就赐与谁。”当时这话就应验在尼布甲尼撒的身上，他被赶出离开世人，吃草如牛，身被天露滴湿，头发长长，好像鹰毛；指甲长长，如同鸟爪。日子满足，我尼布甲尼撒举目望天，我的聪明复归于我，我便称颂至高者，赞美尊敬活到永远的神。他的权柄是永有的；他的国存到万代。
