“ Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Won’t you first sit down and estimate the cost to see if you have enough money to complete it?

“ Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Won’t you sit down first and figure out how much it will cost? Then you will see whether you have enough money to finish it.

For which of you, desiring to build a tower, does not first sit down and count the cost, whether he has enough to complete it?

“ But don’t begin until you count the cost. For who would begin construction of a building without first calculating the cost to see if there is enough money to finish it?

你要在外面预备材料，在田间为自己准备齐全，然后才建造你的房屋。

约书亚对百姓说：“你们不能事奉耶和华，因为他是神圣的上帝，是忌邪的上帝，必不赦免你们的过犯罪恶。你们若离弃耶和华去事奉外邦的神明，耶和华在降福之后，必转而降祸给你们，把你们灭绝。”百姓对约书亚说：“不，我们要事奉耶和华。”约书亚对百姓说：“你们选择耶和华，要事奉他，你们自己作证吧！”他们说：“我们愿意作证。”“现在，你们要除掉你们中间外邦的神明，专心归向耶和华—以色列的上帝。”百姓对约书亚说：“我们必事奉耶和华—我们的上帝，听从他的话。”

而且你们要为我的名被众人憎恨。但坚忍到底的终必得救。

这样，你们无论什么人，若不撇下一切所有的，就不能作我的门徒。”

耶稣说：“狐狸有洞，天空的飞鸟有窝，人子却没有枕头的地方。”

于是保罗回答：“你们为什么这样痛哭，使我心碎呢？我为主耶稣的名，不但被人捆绑，就是死在耶路撒冷也是愿意的。”

我们在你们那里的时候，曾预先告诉你们，我们必受患难；你们知道，这果然发生了。为此，既然我不能再忍，就差派人去，要知道你们的信心如何，恐怕那诱惑人的果真诱惑了你们，以致我们的劳苦归于徒然。

耶稣回答：“你们不知道所求的是什么。我将要喝的杯，你们能喝吗？”他们对他说：“我们能。”耶稣说：“我所喝的杯，你们要喝。可是坐在我的左右，不是我可以赐的，而是我父为谁预备就赐给谁。”

我认为趁我还在这帐棚的时候，应该激发你们的记忆，因为知道我脱离这帐棚的时候快到了，正如我们的主耶稣基督所指示我的。

他们说：“来，让我们建造一座城和一座塔，塔顶通天。我们要为自己立名，免得我们分散在全地面上。”耶和华降临，要看世人所建造的城和塔。耶和华说：“看哪，他们成了同一个民族，都有一样的语言。这只是他们开始做的事，现在他们想要做的任何事，就没有什么可拦阻他们了。来，我们下去，在那里变乱他们的语言，使他们彼此语言不通。”于是耶和华使他们从那里分散在全地面上；他们就停止建造那城了。因为耶和华在那里变乱了全地的语言，把人从那里分散在全地面上，所以那城名叫巴别。
