爾中孰有欲建一塔、而不預籌所需之費、以觀厥成者乎？

“ Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Won’t you first sit down and estimate the cost to see if you have enough money to complete it?

“ Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Won’t you sit down first and figure out how much it will cost? Then you will see whether you have enough money to finish it.

For which of you, desiring to build a tower, does not first sit down and count the cost, whether he has enough to complete it?

“ But don’t begin until you count the cost. For who would begin construction of a building without first calculating the cost to see if there is enough money to finish it?

你当在外面把工作预备好，在田间为自己准备妥当，然后才建造你的房屋。

为了我的名，你们将被所有的人憎恨，但是忍耐到底的，这个人将会得救。

同样，你们当中任何人，如果不向自己所拥有的一切告别，就不能做我的门徒。

耶稣对他说：“狐狸有洞，天空的飞鸟有窝，人子却没有枕头的地方。”

这时候保罗说：“你们为什么哭，使我心碎呢？我为了主耶稣的名，不仅被捆绑，即使死在耶路撒冷，也都预备好了。”

事实上，我们还在你们那里的时候，早就不断地告诉你们，我们将要受患难，这果然应验了，就像你们所知道的那样。为此，我既然不能再等了，就派提摩太去，要知道你们的信仰怎样，恐怕那试探者诱惑了你们，我们所劳苦的落了空。

耶稣就回答说：“你们不知道自己在求什么。我将要喝的杯，你们能喝吗？”他们说：“我们能。”耶稣对他们说：“我的杯你们固然要喝，但坐在我的右边或左边，不是我所赐的，而是我父已经预备给谁，就赐给谁。”

我认为，只要我还在这帐篷里，就理当用提醒的话来激发你们，因为我知道我脱离这帐篷的时候快到了，就像我们的主耶稣基督也曾向我指明的。

他们又说：“来吧！让我们为自己建造一座城和一座塔，塔顶通天，好为自己立名，免得我们分散在整个地面上。”耶和华降临，要看世人建造的城和塔。耶和华说：“看哪，他们是一族，又说一样的语言，而且一开始就做这样的事，此后他们决意做任何事，就没有做不成的！来吧！让我们下去，在那里把他们的语言变乱，使他们彼此听不懂对方的语言。”于是耶和华把他们从那里分散到整个地面上，他们就停止建造那城。因此那城名叫巴别，因为在那里耶和华变乱了全地人的语言，又从那里把他们分散到整个地面上。
