你們為我的名，要被眾人恨惡，然而堅忍到底的必然得救。

這樣，你們中間不論誰，如果不撇下一切所有的，就不能作我的門徒。

耶穌回答：“狐狸有洞，天空的飛鳥有窩，但人子卻沒有棲身﹙“棲身”原文作“枕頭”。﹚的地方。”

保羅卻回答：“你們為甚麼哭，使我心碎呢？我為主耶穌的名，不但被捆綁，就算死在耶路撒冷我也都準備好了。”

我們在你們那裡的時候，早已對你們說過，我們將會遭受患難。後來應驗了，這是你們知道的。因此，我既然不能再忍下去，就派人去打聽你們的信心怎樣；恐怕那試探人的誘惑了你們，以致我們的勞苦白費了。

耶穌回答：“你們不知道你們求的是甚麼。我將要喝的杯，你們能喝嗎？”他們說：“能。”他對他們說：“我的杯你們固然要喝，只是坐在我的左右，不是我可以賜的；我父預備賜給誰，就賜給誰。”

趁著我還在世上（“在世上”原文作“在這帳棚”）的時候，我認為應當提醒你們，使你們常常警醒，因為我知道我離世（“離世”原文作“離開這帳棚”）的時候快到了，正如我們的主耶穌基督清楚指示我的。

他們又說：“來，我們建一座城，造一座塔，塔頂要通天。我們要為自己立名，免得分散在全地上。”耶和華下來，要看看世人建造的城和塔。耶和華說：“看哪，他們同是一個民族，有一樣的語言，他們一開始就作這事，以後他們所要作的一切，就沒有可以攔阻他們的了。來，我們下去，在那裡混亂他們的語言，使他們聽不懂對方的話。”於是，耶和華把他們從那裡分散到全地上，他們就停止建造那城。因此，那城的名就叫巴別，因為耶和華在那裡混亂了全地所有的人的語言，又從那裡把他們分散在全地上。
