“ Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Won’t you first sit down and estimate the cost to see if you have enough money to complete it?

For which of you, desiring to build a tower, does not first sit down and count the cost, whether he has enough to complete it?

要安排好外面的事，把田间的工作准备妥当，然后建造房屋。

约书亚说：“你们不能事奉耶和华，祂是一位圣洁的上帝，祂痛恨不贞，必不赦免你们的过犯和罪恶。如果你们背弃耶和华，去拜外族的神明，尽管祂曾经恩待你们，也必降祸给你们，毁灭你们。”民众答道：“不，我们一定要事奉耶和华。”约书亚说：“现在你们自己作证，你们已选择事奉耶和华。”民众答道：“我们愿意自己作证。”约书亚说：“这样，你们现在就要摒弃你们中间的外族神明，专心归向以色列的上帝耶和华。”民众答道：“我们必事奉我们的上帝耶和华，听从祂的话。”

你们将为我的名而被众人憎恨，但坚忍到底的必定得救。

“同样，你们若不撇下一切，就不能做我的门徒。

耶稣说：“狐狸有洞，飞鸟有窝，人子却没有安枕之处。”

但保罗说：“你们为什么这样哭泣，令我心碎呢？我为主耶稣的名甘愿受捆绑，甚至死在耶路撒冷。”

我们在你们那里时曾预先告诉过你们，我们会遭遇患难，你们知道后来果然如此。因此，我无法再等下去了，就派提摩太到你们那里看看你们的信心如何，免得那诱惑人的诱惑了你们，使我们的心血都白费了。

耶稣回答说：“你们不知道自己在求什么。我要喝的那一杯，你们能喝吗？”他们说：“我们能。”耶稣对他们说：“我要喝的那一杯，你们也要喝。不过谁坐在我的左右不是我来定，而是我父为谁预备的，就让谁坐。”

我觉得应当趁着我还在世的时候提醒你们，激励你们，因我知道自己离世的日子已经不远了，正如我们的主耶稣基督指示我的。

说：“来吧，让我们造一座城和一座高耸入云的塔，这样我们可以扬名天下，不致分散在地上。”耶和华从天上下来，要察看人建造的城和塔。耶和华说：“看啊，他们同属一个民族，都用同一种语言，现在就做这样的事，如果继续下去，他们会为所欲为。让我们下去变乱他们的语言，使他们彼此言语不通。”于是，耶和华把他们从那里分散到世界各地，他们便不再建造那城了。因此，人称那城为巴别，因为耶和华在那里变乱了人类的语言，把他们分散到世界各地。
