On the contrary, when you host a banquet, invite those who are poor, maimed, lame, or blind.

Listen, my dear brothers: Didn’t God choose the poor in this world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom that He has promised to those who love Him?

the blind see, the lame walk, those with skin diseases are healed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the poor are told the good news.

Then the lame will leap like a deer, and the tongue of the mute will sing for joy, for water will gush in the wilderness, and streams in the desert;

For I tell you, not one of those men who were invited will enjoy my banquet!’”

how will we escape if we neglect such a great salvation? It was first spoken by the Lord and was confirmed to us by those who heard Him.

He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from the garbage pile. He seats them with noblemen and gives them a throne of honor. For the foundations of the earth are the Lord’s; He has set the world on them.

He replied to them,“ Go and report to John the things you have seen and heard: The blind receive their sight, the lame walk, those with skin diseases are healed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the poor are told the good news.And anyone who is not offended because of Me is blessed.”

He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from the garbage pilein order to seat them with nobles— with the nobles of His people.

Jesus said,“ I came into this world for judgment, in order that those who do not see will see and those who do see will become blind.”

Then I saw another great and awe-inspiring sign in heaven: seven angels with the seven last plagues, for with them, God’s wrath will be completed.I also saw something like a sea of glass mixed with fire, and those who had won the victory over the beast, his image, and the number of his name, were standing on the sea of glass with harps from God.They sang the song of God’s servant Moses and the song of the Lamb: Great and awe-inspiring are Your works, Lord God, the Almighty; righteous and true are Your ways, King of the Nations.Lord, who will not fear and glorify Your name? Because You alone are holy, for all the nations will come and worship before You because Your righteous acts have been revealed.After this I looked, and the heavenly sanctuary— the tabernacle of testimony— was opened.Out of the sanctuary came the seven angels with the seven plagues, dressed in clean, bright linen, with gold sashes wrapped around their chests.One of the four living creatures gave the seven angels seven gold bowls filled with the wrath of God who lives forever and ever.Then the sanctuary was filled with smoke from God’s glory and from His power, and no one could enter the sanctuary until the seven plagues of the seven angels were completed.

Your ropes are slack; they cannot hold the base of the mast or spread out the flag. Then abundant spoil will be divided, the lame will plunder it,

Make sure that you do not reject the One who speaks. For if they did not escape when they rejected Him who warned them on earth, even less will we if we turn away from Him who warns us from heaven.His voice shook the earth at that time, but now He has promised, Yet once more I will shake not only the earth but also heaven.

Wisdom calls out in the street; she raises her voice in the public squares.She cries out above the commotion; she speaks at the entrance of the city gates:“ How long, foolish ones, will you love ignorance? How long will you mockers enjoy mocking and you fools hate knowledge?If you respond to my warning, then I will pour out my spirit on you and teach you my words.Since I called out and you refused, extended my hand and no one paid attention,since you neglected all my counsel and did not accept my correction,

Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they keep watch over your souls as those who will give an account, so that they can do this with joy and not with grief, for that would be unprofitable for you.

“ Come to Me, all of you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.

So those who were scattered went on their way preaching the message of good news.Philip went down to a city in Samaria and proclaimed the Messiah to them.The crowds paid attention with one mind to what Philip said, as they heard and saw the signs he was performing.For unclean spirits, crying out with a loud voice, came out of many who were possessed, and many who were paralyzed and lame were healed.

and repentance for forgiveness of sins would be proclaimed in His name to all the nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

Now many Samaritans from that town believed in Him because of what the woman said when she testified,“ He told me everything I ever did.”Therefore, when the Samaritans came to Him, they asked Him to stay with them, and He stayed there two days.Many more believed because of what He said.And they told the woman,“ We no longer believe because of what you said, for we have heard for ourselves and know that this really is the Savior of the world.”

A sharp sword came from His mouth, so that He might strike the nations with it. He will shepherd them with an iron scepter. He will also trample the winepress of the fierce anger of God, the Almighty.

Then the Pharisees responded to them:“ Are you fooled too?Have any of the rulers or Pharisees believed in Him?But this crowd, which doesn’t know the law, is accursed!”

Both the Spirit and the bride say,“ Come!” Anyone who hears should say,“ Come!” And the one who is thirsty should come. Whoever desires should take the living water as a gift.

When the apostles returned, they reported to Jesus all that they had done. He took them along and withdrew privately to a town called Bethsaida.

For my loins are full of burning pain, and there is no health in my body.
