But when you give a feast, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind,

Listen, my beloved brothers, has not God chosen those who are poor in the world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom, which he has promised to those who love him?

the blind receive their sight and the lame walk, lepers are cleansed and the deaf hear, and the dead are raised up, and the poor have good news preached to them.

then shall the lame man leap like a deer, and the tongue of the mute sing for joy. For waters break forth in the wilderness, and streams in the desert;

For I tell you, none of those men who were invited shall taste my banquet.’”

how shall we escape if we neglect such a great salvation? It was declared at first by the Lord, and it was attested to us by those who heard,

Jesus said,“ For judgment I came into this world, that those who do not see may see, and those who see may become blind.”

Then I saw another sign in heaven, great and amazing, seven angels with seven plagues, which are the last, for with them the wrath of God is finished.And I saw what appeared to be a sea of glass mingled with fire— and also those who had conquered the beast and its image and the number of its name, standing beside the sea of glass with harps of God in their hands.And they sing the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying,“ Great and amazing are your deeds, O Lord God the Almighty! Just and true are your ways, O King of the nations!Who will not fear, O Lord, and glorify your name? For you alone are holy. All nations will come and worship you, for your righteous acts have been revealed.”After this I looked, and the sanctuary of the tent of witness in heaven was opened,and out of the sanctuary came the seven angels with the seven plagues, clothed in pure, bright linen, with golden sashes around their chests.And one of the four living creatures gave to the seven angels seven golden bowls full of the wrath of God who lives forever and ever,and the sanctuary was filled with smoke from the glory of God and from his power, and no one could enter the sanctuary until the seven plagues of the seven angels were finished.

Your cords hang loose; they cannot hold the mast firm in its place or keep the sail spread out. Then prey and spoil in abundance will be divided; even the lame will take the prey.

See that you do not refuse him who is speaking. For if they did not escape when they refused him who warned them on earth, much less will we escape if we reject him who warns from heaven.At that time his voice shook the earth, but now he has promised,“ Yet once more I will shake not only the earth but also the heavens.”

Wisdom cries aloud in the street, in the markets she raises her voice;at the head of the noisy streets she cries out; at the entrance of the city gates she speaks:“ How long, O simple ones, will you love being simple? How long will scoffers delight in their scoffing and fools hate knowledge?If you turn at my reproof, behold, I will pour out my spirit to you; I will make my words known to you.Because I have called and you refused to listen, have stretched out my hand and no one has heeded,because you have ignored all my counsel and would have none of my reproof,

Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they are keeping watch over your souls, as those who will have to give an account. Let them do this with joy and not with groaning, for that would be of no advantage to you.

Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Now those who were scattered went about preaching the word.Philip went down to the city of Samaria and proclaimed to them the Christ.And the crowds with one accord paid attention to what was being said by Philip, when they heard him and saw the signs that he did.For unclean spirits, crying out with a loud voice, came out of many who had them, and many who were paralyzed or lame were healed.

and that repentance for the forgiveness of sins should be proclaimed in his name to all nations, beginning from Jerusalem.

Many Samaritans from that town believed in him because of the woman’s testimony,“ He told me all that I ever did.”So when the Samaritans came to him, they asked him to stay with them, and he stayed there two days.And many more believed because of his word.They said to the woman,“ It is no longer because of what you said that we believe, for we have heard for ourselves, and we know that this is indeed the Savior of the world.”

From his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations, and he will rule them with a rod of iron. He will tread the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God the Almighty.

The Pharisees answered them,“ Have you also been deceived?Have any of the authorities or the Pharisees believed in him?But this crowd that does not know the law is accursed.”

The Spirit and the Bride say,“ Come.” And let the one who hears say,“ Come.” And let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who desires take the water of life without price.

On their return the apostles told him all that they had done. And he took them and withdrew apart to a town called Bethsaida.

On the heights beside the way, at the crossroads she takes her stand;beside the gates in front of the town, at the entrance of the portals she cries aloud:“ To you, O men, I call, and my cry is to the children of man.

So it was annulled on that day, and the sheep traders, who were watching me, knew that it was the word of the Lord.

So David’s young men turned away and came back and told him all this.

When his fellow servants saw what had taken place, they were greatly distressed, and they went and reported to their master all that had taken place.

Then the disciples came and said to him,“ Do you know that the Pharisees were offended when they heard this saying?”

Run to and fro through the streets of Jerusalem, look and take note! Search her squares to see if you can find a man, one who does justice and seeks truth, that I may pardon her.

So I became the shepherd of the flock doomed to be slaughtered by the sheep traders. And I took two staffs, one I named Favor, the other I named Union. And I tended the sheep.

She has sent out her young women to call from the highest places in the town,“ Whoever is simple, let him turn in here!” To him who lacks sense she says,

Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and you perish in the way, for his wrath is quickly kindled. Blessed are all who take refuge in him.

For my sides are filled with burning, and there is no soundness in my flesh.
