“ That servant came, and told his lord these things. Then the master of the house, being angry, said to his servant,‘ Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in the poor, maimed, blind, and lame.’

Isn’t it to distribute your bread to the hungry, and that you bring the poor who are cast out to your house? When you see the naked, that you cover him; and that you not hide yourself from your own flesh?

He who oppresses the poor shows contempt for his Maker, but he who is kind to the needy honors him.

Then he said to them,“ Go your way. Eat the fat, drink the sweet, and send portions to him for whom nothing is prepared, for today is holy to our Lord. Don’t be grieved, for the joy of Yahweh is your strength.”

When you have finished tithing all the tithe of your increase in the third year, which is the year of tithing, then you shall give it to the Levite, to the foreigner, to the fatherless, and to the widow, that they may eat within your gates and be filled.You shall say before Yahweh your God,“ I have put away the holy things out of my house, and also have given them to the Levite, to the foreigner, to the fatherless, and to the widow, according to all your commandment which you have commanded me. I have not transgressed any of your commandments, neither have I forgotten them.

Those servants went out into the highways, and gathered together as many as they found, both bad and good. The wedding was filled with guests.

The Levite, because he has no portion nor inheritance with you, as well as the foreigner living among you, the fatherless, and the widow who are within your gates shall come, and shall eat and be satisfied; that Yahweh your God may bless you in all the work of your hand which you do.

and if you pour out your soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul, then your light will rise in darkness, and your obscurity will be as the noonday;

Jesus went out, and he saw a great multitude. He had compassion on them, and healed their sick.When evening had come, his disciples came to him, saying,“ This place is deserted, and the hour is already late. Send the multitudes away, that they may go into the villages, and buy themselves food.”But Jesus said to them,“ They don’t need to go away. You give them something to eat.”They told him,“ We only have here five loaves and two fish.”He said,“ Bring them here to me.”He commanded the multitudes to sit down on the grass; and he took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to heaven, he blessed, broke and gave the loaves to the disciples, and the disciples gave to the multitudes.They all ate, and were filled. They took up twelve baskets full of that which remained left over from the broken pieces.Those who ate were about five thousand men, in addition to women and children.

Don’t forget to show hospitality to strangers, for in doing so, some have entertained angels without knowing it.

You shall rejoice before Yahweh your God: you, your son, your daughter, your male servant, your female servant, the Levite who is within your gates, the foreigner, the fatherless, and the widow who are among you, in the place which Yahweh your God shall choose to cause his name to dwell there.

being approved by good works, if she has brought up children, if she has been hospitable to strangers, if she has washed the saints’ feet, if she has relieved the afflicted, and if she has diligently followed every good work.

All the people went their way to eat, to drink, to send portions, and to celebrate, because they had understood the words that were declared to them.

You shall rejoice in your feast, you, your son, your daughter, your male servant, your female servant, the Levite, the foreigner, the fatherless, and the widow who are within your gates.

The overseer therefore must be without reproach, the husband of one wife, temperate, sensible, modest, hospitable, good at teaching;

the blessing of him who was ready to perish came on me, and I caused the widow’s heart to sing for joy.

Jesus summoned his disciples and said,“ I have compassion on the multitude, because they continue with me now three days and have nothing to eat. I don’t want to send them away fasting, or they might faint on the way.”The disciples said to him,“ Where should we get so many loaves in a deserted place as to satisfy so great a multitude?”Jesus said to them,“ How many loaves do you have?” They said,“ Seven, and a few small fish.”He commanded the multitude to sit down on the ground;and he took the seven loaves and the fish. He gave thanks and broke them, and gave to the disciples, and the disciples to the multitudes.They all ate, and were filled. They took up seven baskets full of the broken pieces that were left over.Those who ate were four thousand men, in addition to women and children.Then he sent away the multitudes, got into the boat, and came into the borders of Magdala.

For neither was there among them any who lacked, for as many as were owners of lands or houses sold them, and brought the proceeds of the things that were sold,and laid them at the apostles’ feet, and distribution was made to each, according as anyone had need.

All who believed were together, and had all things in common.They sold their possessions and goods, and distributed them to all, according as anyone had need.

Give strong drink to him who is ready to perish, and wine to the bitter in soul.Let him drink, and forget his poverty, and remember his misery no more.

Honor Yahweh with your substance, with the first fruits of all your increase:so your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats will overflow with new wine.

For Hezekiah king of Judah gave to the assembly for offerings one thousand bulls and seven thousand sheep; and the princes gave to the assembly a thousand bulls and ten thousand sheep: and a great number of priests sanctified themselves.

He gave to all the people, even among the whole multitude of Israel, both to men and women, to everyone a portion of bread, dates, and raisins. So all the people departed, each to his own house.

contributing to the needs of the saints; given to hospitality.Bless those who persecute you; bless, and don’t curse.Rejoice with those who rejoice. Weep with those who weep.Be of the same mind one toward another. Don’t set your mind on high things, but associate with the humble. Don’t be wise in your own conceits.

But give for gifts to the needy those things which are within, and behold, all things will be clean to you.

Peter got up and went with them. When he had come, they brought him into the upper room. All the widows stood by him weeping, and showing the coats and garments which Dorcas had made while she was with them.

For we have much joy and comfort in your love, because the hearts of the saints have been refreshed through you, brother.
