They encourage each other in evil plans, they talk about hiding their snares; they say,“ Who will see it?”They plot injustice and say,“ We have devised a perfect plan!” Surely the human mind and heart are cunning. (niv)

The wicked lie in wait for the righteous, intent on putting them to death; (niv)

Keeping a close watch on him, they sent spies, who pretended to be sincere. They hoped to catch Jesus in something he said, so that they might hand him over to the power and authority of the governor. (niv)

When one of them comes to see me, he speaks falsely, while his heart gathers slander; then he goes out and spreads it around. (niv)

The Pharisees and the teachers of the law were looking for a reason to accuse Jesus, so they watched him closely to see if he would heal on the Sabbath. (niv)
