又設一喻曰：『有植鳳菓樹於葡萄園者、至而覓菓、無所得。

于是用比喻说：“一个人有一棵无花果树栽在葡萄园里。他来到树前找果子，却找不着。

Then he told this parable:“ A man had a fig tree growing in his vineyard, and he went to look for fruit on it but did not find any.

Then Jesus told a story.“ A man had a fig tree,” he said.“ It was growing in his vineyard. When he went to look for fruit on it, he didn’t find any.

And he told this parable:“ A man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard, and he came seeking fruit on it and found none.

Then Jesus told this story:“ A man planted a fig tree in his garden and came again and again to see if there was any fruit on it, but he was always disappointed.

爾未擇予、而予擇爾、且命爾進而結實、長保厥實。如此、則爾因我名以求於父者、莫不見賜。

若夫聖神之果、則為仁愛、神樂、安怡、忍耐、慈祥、良善、忠信、

顧予所為汲汲者、不在爾之資助、而在為爾廣收慷慨之妙果耳。

祈主一顧盼。加我以慈色。顛沛亦已甚。仰主賜救拔。吾族在昔日。備承主之德。猶如葡萄樹。移之出埃及。諸夷既被逐。植之於聖域。園地沃且廣。根深自條達。山嶽被其蔭。翠柯如靈柏。扶疎臨海角。蔓衍到幼法。今何毀其籬。行人競相折。

見道旁鳳菓樹、就而覓菓、無所得、但有叢葉、乃曰：『願爾從此永不結實！』樹頓枯。門徒見而奇之曰：『何枯之速也！』

屆收菓之時、乃遣其僕向園戶取菓。園戶執之、擊其一、殺其一、更以石斃其一。主乃遣他僕往索、其人數倍於前；園戶處之如故。最後乃使其子往取、意謂必尊吾子矣。孰意園戶一見其子、乃共議曰：「斯乃厥嗣、我等盍共殺之、可佔其產：」於是執而殺之葡萄園外。爾思園主歸時、將如何處此園戶乎？』

次日自伯大尼出、耶穌飢、遙見一鳳果樹、其葉蔚然、冀必有實、趨視惟葉、未至結實時也。耶穌謂樹曰：『此後應無人食爾果矣！』門徒共聞之。

及時遣一僕前往、催繳園果、園戶撻之、使空手而返。更遣一僕、復為其毆辱、亦徒手而返。三次命僕、又傷而逐之。園主曰：「將何以處此、且使吾愛子親往、若輩儻亦知敬歟？」詎意園戶見而互議曰：「此乃其嗣子、盍共殺之、產歸吾有矣。」
