He replied,“ Go and tell that fox,‘ I will keep on driving out demons. I will keep on healing people today and tomorrow. And on the third day I will reach my goal.’

耶稣对他们说：“你们去告诉那狐狸：看哪！今天明天我驱赶鬼魔、治愈疾病，然后在第三天，我的事就得以完成了。

耶穌對他們說：『你們去告訴那個狐狸說：「你看吧，今天明天我趕鬼，完成醫務，第三天我就完了。」

耶穌對他們說：「你們去告訴那狐狸：看哪！今天明天我驅趕鬼魔、治癒疾病，然後在第三天，我的事就得以完成了。

耶穌對曰：『往告彼狐、予於今日明日逐魔治疾、第三日將畢吾程；

He replied,“ Go tell that fox,‘ I will keep on driving out demons and healing people today and tomorrow, and on the third day I will reach my goal.’

And he said to them,“ Go and tell that fox,‘ Behold, I cast out demons and perform cures today and tomorrow, and the third day I finish my course.

Jesus replied,“ Go tell that fox that I will keep on casting out demons and healing people today and tomorrow; and the third day I will accomplish my purpose.

He said to them,“ Go tell that fox,‘ Look, I’m driving out demons and performing healings today and tomorrow, and on the third day I will complete my work.’

And He said to them,“ Go and tell that fox,‘ Behold, I am casting out demons and performing healings today and tomorrow, and on the third day I reach My goal.’

And He said to them,“ Go, tell that fox,‘ Behold, I cast out demons and perform cures today and tomorrow, and the third day I shall be perfected.’

And he said unto them, Go and say to that fox, Behold, I cast out demons and perform cures to- day and to- morrow, and the third day I am perfected.

He said to them,“ Go tell that fox,‘ Look! I’m driving out demons and performing healings today and tomorrow, and on the third day I will complete My work.’

And he said unto them, Go ye, and tell that fox, Behold, I cast out devils, and I do cures to day and to morrow, and the third[ day] I shall be perfected.

But he said to them,“ Go and tell that fox,‘ Look, I am casting out demons and performing healings today and tomorrow, and on the third day I will complete my work.

He said to them,“ Go and tell that fox,‘ Behold, I cast out demons and perform cures today and tomorrow, and the third day I complete my mission.

God has made everything. He is now bringing his many sons and daughters to share in his glory. It is only right that Jesus is the one to lead them into their salvation. That’s because God made him perfect by his sufferings.

In this way he was made perfect. Eternal salvation comes from him. He saves all those who obey him.

But John found fault with Herod, the ruler of Galilee, because of his marriage to Herodias. She was the wife of Herod’s brother. John also spoke strongly to Herod about all the other evil things he had done.So Herod locked John up in prison. Herod added this sin to all his others.

But Jesus said to them,“ I have shown you many good works from the Father. Which good work are you throwing stones at me for?”

Israel, your prophets are like wild dogs that live among broken- down buildings.

Then I said,“ Listen, you leaders of Jacob’s people! Pay attention, you rulers of Israel! You should want to judge others fairly.But you hate what is good. And you love what is evil. You are like someone who tears the skin off my people. You pull the meat off their bones.You eat my people’s bodies. You strip off their skin. You break their bones in pieces. You chop them up like meat. You put them in a cooking pot.”

King Herod heard about this. Jesus’ name had become well known. Some were saying,“ John the Baptist has been raised from the dead! That is why he has the power to do miracles.”

“ But Rabbi,” they said,“ a short time ago the Jews there tried to kill you with stones. Are you still going back?”Jesus answered,“ Aren’t there 12 hours of daylight? Anyone who walks during the day won’t trip and fall. They can see because of this world’s light.But when they walk at night, they’ll trip and fall. They have no light.”

The king was very upset. But he thought about his promise and his dinner guests. So he did not want to say no to the girl.He sent a man right away to bring John’s head. The man went to the prison and cut off John’s head.He brought it back on a big plate. He gave it to the girl, and she gave it to her mother.

The law appoints as high priests men who are weak. But God’s promise came after the law. By his promise the Son was appointed. The Son has been made perfect forever.

When Herod saw Jesus, he was very pleased. He had been wanting to see Jesus for a long time. He had heard much about him. He hoped to see Jesus perform a sign of some kind.Herod asked him many questions, but Jesus gave him no answer.The chief priests and the teachers of the law were standing there. With loud shouts they brought charges against him.Herod and his soldiers laughed at him and made fun of him. They dressed him in a beautiful robe. Then they sent him back to Pilate.

I have brought you glory on earth. I have finished the work you gave me to do.So now, Father, give glory to me in heaven where your throne is. Give me the glory I had with you before the world began.

Jerusalem’s officials are like roaring lions. Their rulers are like wolves that hunt in the evening. They don’t leave anything to eat in the morning.

Now Herod, the ruler of Galilee, heard about everything that was going on. He was bewildered, because some were saying that John the Baptist had been raised from the dead.Others were saying that Elijah had appeared. Still others were saying that a prophet of long ago had come back to life.But Herod said,“ I had John’s head cut off. So who is it that I hear such things about?” And he tried to see Jesus.

After Jesus drank he said,“ It is finished.” Then he bowed his head and died.
