耶穌說：「你們去告訴那個狐狸，『今天和明天，我要繼續趕鬼治病，到第三天，我的任務就完成了。』

耶穌對他們說：「你們去告訴那狐狸：看哪！今天明天我驅趕鬼魔、治癒疾病，然後在第三天，我的事就得以完成了。

耶穌對曰：『往告彼狐、予於今日明日逐魔治疾、第三日將畢吾程；

He replied,“ Go tell that fox,‘ I will keep on driving out demons and healing people today and tomorrow, and on the third day I will reach my goal.’

He replied,“ Go and tell that fox,‘ I will keep on driving out demons. I will keep on healing people today and tomorrow. And on the third day I will reach my goal.’

And he said to them,“ Go and tell that fox,‘ Behold, I cast out demons and perform cures today and tomorrow, and the third day I finish my course.

Jesus replied,“ Go tell that fox that I will keep on casting out demons and healing people today and tomorrow; and the third day I will accomplish my purpose.

He said to them,“ Go tell that fox,‘ Look, I’m driving out demons and performing healings today and tomorrow, and on the third day I will complete my work.’

And He said to them,“ Go and tell that fox,‘ Behold, I am casting out demons and performing healings today and tomorrow, and on the third day I reach My goal.’

And He said to them,“ Go, tell that fox,‘ Behold, I cast out demons and perform cures today and tomorrow, and the third day I shall be perfected.’

And he said unto them, Go and say to that fox, Behold, I cast out demons and perform cures to- day and to- morrow, and the third day I am perfected.

He said to them,“ Go tell that fox,‘ Look! I’m driving out demons and performing healings today and tomorrow, and on the third day I will complete My work.’

And he said unto them, Go ye, and tell that fox, Behold, I cast out devils, and I do cures to day and to morrow, and the third[ day] I shall be perfected.

But he said to them,“ Go and tell that fox,‘ Look, I am casting out demons and performing healings today and tomorrow, and on the third day I will complete my work.

He said to them,“ Go and tell that fox,‘ Behold, I cast out demons and perform cures today and tomorrow, and the third day I complete my mission.

作為萬物的歸宿和根源的上帝，叫救恩的元帥耶穌經歷苦難而得以純全，以便帶領許多的兒女進入榮耀，這樣的安排是恰當的。

祂既然達到了純全的地步，就成了永恆救恩的源頭，使所有順服祂的人都得到拯救。

分封王希律娶了自己弟弟的妻子希羅底，又做了許多惡事，因而受到約翰的指責，可是他卻惡上加惡，將約翰關進監牢裡。

耶穌就問他們：「我將許多從父而來的美善之事顯給你們看，你們為了哪一件事拿石頭打我呢？」

以色列人啊，你們的先知像廢墟中的狐狸，

我說：「雅各的首領，以色列家的統治者啊！你們要聽！難道你們不知正義嗎？你們憎惡良善，喜愛邪惡，剝下我百姓的皮，從他們的骨頭上剔肉。你們吃我百姓的肉，剝我百姓的皮，打碎他們的骨頭，把他們切成塊，如同下在鍋裡、放進釜中的肉。

耶穌聲名遠播，希律王也聽說了祂的事。有人說：「施洗者約翰從死裡復活了，所以能夠行這些神蹟。」

門徒說：「老師，猶太人近來想拿石頭打你，你還要去那裡嗎？」耶穌說：「白天不是有十二個小時嗎？人在白天走路，不會跌倒，因為他看得見這世上的光。人在夜間走路，才會跌倒，因為沒有光。」

王聽了這個請求，感到十分為難，但因為在賓客面前起了誓言，就不好拒絕。他立刻命令衛兵進監牢砍了約翰的頭，放在盤子裡送給這女子，她又轉送給她母親。

根據律法所立的大祭司都有弱點，但律法之後憑誓言所立的大祭司——上帝的兒子永遠純全。

希律見到耶穌，十分高興，因為他聽過耶穌的事，早就想見祂，希望看祂行神蹟。他問了耶穌許多問題，耶穌卻一言不發。祭司長和律法教師站在那裡極力地指控耶穌。希律和他的衛兵嘲弄侮辱耶穌，給祂穿上華麗的袍子，把祂押回彼拉多那裡。

我已經完成你交給我的工作，使你在地上得了榮耀。父啊，現在讓我和你同享創世以前我們所共有的榮耀吧！

她的首領是咆哮的獅子，她的審判官是夜間的豺狼，不留一點獵物到天明。

耶穌的事蹟很快便傳到希律耳中，令他十分困惑，因為有人說：「約翰死而復活了」，有人說：「以利亞顯現了」，還有人說：「古代的某個先知復活了」。希律說：「約翰已經被我斬首，這個行奇事的人到底是誰呢？」於是他想見耶穌。

耶穌嚐了那醋酒，然後說：「成了！」就垂下頭來，將靈魂交給了上帝。
