那時，你們要說：『我們在你面前吃過喝過，你也在我們的街上教訓過人。』

那時，你們要說：『我們在你面前吃過喝過，你也在我們的街上教導過人。』

「那時，你們必說，『我們不是在一起用過餐嗎？你不是在街上教導過我們嗎？』

那時你們就必說：「我們在你面前喫過喝過，你也曾在我們大街上教訓過人呀」。

那時你們就開始說：『我們曾經在你面前吃過、喝過，你也曾經在我們的大街上教導過！』

爾將曰、我儕曾於爾前食飲、爾亦於我衢訓誨、

爾將曰、我儕於爾前飲食、爾亦於我衢教誨、

時爾將曰、我儕曾於爾前飲食、爾亦曾於我之街衢教誨、

爾將曰：「吾嘗飲食於爾前、爾嘗施訓於吾巷矣。」

then shall ye begin to say, We did eat and drink in thy presence, and thou didst teach in our streets;

Then shall ye begin to say, We have eaten and drunk in thy presence, and thou hast taught in our streets.

Then you will begin to say,‘ We ate and drank in your presence, and you taught in our streets.’

Then you will begin to say,‘ We ate and drank in your presence, and you taught in our streets.’

Yet they act so pious! They come to the Temple every day and seem delighted to learn all about me. They act like a righteous nation that would never abandon the laws of its God. They ask me to take action on their behalf, pretending they want to be near me.

Such people claim they know God, but they deny him by the way they live. They are detestable and disobedient, worthless for doing anything good.

They will act religious, but they will reject the power that could make them godly. Stay away from people like that!
