曰『爾等當勉入窄門。予實語爾、欲入而不得入者、眾矣。

“ Make every effort to enter through the narrow door, because many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able to.

Enter ye in by the narrow gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many are they that enter in thereby.For narrow is the gate, and straitened the way, that leadeth unto life, and few are they that find it.

The desire of the sluggard killeth him; For his hands refuse to labor.

For being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and seeking to establish their own, they did not subject themselves to the righteousness of God.

Let us therefore give diligence to enter into that rest, that no man fall after the same example of disobedience.

Yet they seek me daily, and delight to know my ways: as a nation that did righteousness, and forsook not the ordinance of their God, they ask of me righteous judgments; they delight to draw near unto God.Wherefore have we fasted, say they, and thou seest not? wherefore have we afflicted our soul, and thou takest no knowledge? Behold, in the day of your fast ye find your own pleasure, and exact all your labors.Behold, ye fast for strife and contention, and to smite with the fist of wickedness: ye fast not this day so as to make your voice to be heard on high.

But watch ye at every season, making supplication, that ye may prevail to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

Ye shall seek me, and shall not find me: and where I am, ye cannot come.

The labor of fools wearieth every one of them; for he knoweth not how to go to the city.

Because I have called, and ye have refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man hath regarded;But ye have set at nought all my counsel, And would none of my reproof:I also will laugh in the day of your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh;When your fear cometh as a storm, And your calamity cometh on as a whirlwind; When distress and anguish come upon you.Then will they call upon me, but I will not answer; They will seek me diligently, but they shall not find me:

And they come unto thee as the people cometh, and they sit before thee as my people, and they hear thy words, but do them not; for with their mouth they show much love, but their heart goeth after their gain.

Know ye not that they that run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? Even so run; that ye may attain.And every man that striveth in the games exerciseth self- control in all things. Now they do it to receive a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.I therefore so run, as not uncertainly; so fight I, as not beating the air:but I buffet my body, and bring it into bondage: lest by any means, after that I have preached to others, I myself should be rejected.

Work not for the food which perisheth, but for the food which abideth unto eternal life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him the Father, even God, hath sealed.

So then, my beloved, even as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling;for it is God who worketh in you both to will and to work, for his good pleasure.

He said therefore again unto them, I go away, and ye shall seek me, and shall die in your sin: whither I go, ye cannot come.

For John said unto Herod, It is not lawful for thee to have thy brother’s wife.And Herodias set herself against him, and desired to kill him; and she could not;for Herod feared John, knowing that he was a righteous and holy man, and kept him safe. And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and men of violence take it by force.

A scoffer seeketh wisdom, and findeth it not; But knowledge is easy unto him that hath understanding.

Little children, yet a little while I am with you. Ye shall seek me: and as I said unto the Jews, Whither I go, ye cannot come; so now I say unto you.
