耶穌被接上升的日子將到，他決定面向耶路撒冷走去。

耶穌走遍各城各鄉，在他們的會堂裏教導人，宣講天國的福音，又醫治各樣的病症。

他們行路上耶路撒冷去。耶穌在前頭走，他們很驚訝，跟從的人也害怕。耶穌又叫十二使徒來，把自己將要遭遇的事告訴他們，說：「看哪，我們上耶路撒冷去，人子將被交給祭司長和文士；他們要定他死罪，又交給外邦人。他們要戲弄他，向他吐唾沫，鞭打他，殺害他；三天後，他要復活。」

他也詫異他們不信。耶穌走遍周圍鄉村教導人。

但耶穌對他們說：「我也必須在別的城傳上帝國的福音，因我奉差原是為此。」於是耶穌在猶太的各會堂傳道。
