反對祂的人聽了這番話後，都非常羞愧，眾人卻為耶穌的奇妙作為高興歡喜。

但態度要溫和恭敬，存無愧的良心。這樣，那些對你們因信基督而有的好品行妄加誣衊的人會自覺羞愧。

耶和華啊，萬神之中，誰能像你？誰能像你——威嚴神聖，可頌可畏，廣行神蹟？

願謀取我性命的人蒙羞受辱！願喜歡我被害的人狼狽逃竄！

願誣告我的人滿面羞辱，無地自容。

他們都啞口無言。

此後，再沒有人敢問耶穌問題了。

他們必說，『只有耶和華那裡才有公義和能力。』」向祂發怒的必在祂面前蒙羞。

祂正走下橄欖山，將近耶路撒冷的時候，眾門徒因為以往所見的神蹟奇事，就歡騰起來，高聲讚美上帝：「奉主名來的王當受稱頌！天上有平安，至高處有榮耀！」百姓中有幾個法利賽人對耶穌說：「老師，你要責備你的門徒。」耶穌說：「我告訴你們，如果他們閉口不言，這些石頭都要呼喊了！」

那些親眼看見耶穌叫拉撒路復活、走出墳墓的人不斷傳揚這件事。許多聽過耶穌行這神蹟的人都去迎接祂。

祂的作為榮耀威嚴，祂的公義永遠長存。

官長實在不知道如何懲治使徒，只好再三恐嚇之後把他們放了，因為百姓都為這個神蹟讚美上帝。

只是無從下手，因為百姓都十分喜愛聽祂講道。

不過，他們猖狂不了多久，因為他們的愚昧行徑必暴露在眾人面前，就像雅尼和佯庇的下場一樣。

大家看見他一邊走一邊讚美上帝，認出他就是那個在美門外面的乞丐，都為發生在他身上的事而感到驚奇、詫異。那乞丐緊緊拉著彼得和約翰的手走到所羅門廊，眾人都跑過來，嘖嘖稱奇。

他立刻得見光明，並跟隨耶穌，一路讚美上帝。目睹這事的人也都讚美上帝。

到那日，耶和華的苗必長得茂盛華美，這地方的出產必成為以色列倖存者的驕傲和光榮。
