因為耶穌在安息日使人痊癒，會堂主管就很生氣，對那群人說：「應該做工的日子有六天，所以你們在那些日子來得痊癒吧！但不要在安息日這一天。」

Indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, the synagogue leader said to the people,“ There are six days for work. So come and be healed on those days, not on the Sabbath.”

Jesus had healed the woman on the Sabbath day. This made the synagogue leader angry. He told the people,“ There are six days for work. So come and be healed on those days. But do not come on the Sabbath day.”

But the ruler of the synagogue, indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, said to the people,“ There are six days in which work ought to be done. Come on those days and be healed, and not on the Sabbath day.”

But the leader in charge of the synagogue was indignant that Jesus had healed her on the Sabbath day.“ There are six days of the week for working,” he said to the crowd.“ Come on those days to be healed, not on the Sabbath.”

But the leader of the synagogue, indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, responded by telling the crowd,“ There are six days when work should be done; therefore come on those days and be healed and not on the Sabbath day.”

But the synagogue leader, indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, began saying to the crowd in response,“ There are six days during which work should be done; so come during them and get healed, and not on the Sabbath day.”

有些法利賽人看見了，就對耶穌說：「你看，你的門徒們做了在安息日不可以做的事。」

那個人就去向那些猶太人報告說，使他痊癒的是耶穌。那些猶太人之所以逼迫耶穌，是因為他在安息日做這些事。

耶穌和泥開他眼睛的那一天，正是安息日。法利賽人也再次問他是怎麼得以看見的。他說：「他把泥抹在我的眼睛上，我一洗，就能看見了。」法利賽人中的有些人說：「那個人不是從神那裡來的，因為他不守安息日。」有些人卻說：「一個罪人怎麼能行這樣的神蹟呢？」他們之間就產生了分裂。

經文士們和法利賽人就密切注意耶穌會不會在安息日使人痊癒，為要找把柄控告他。

這時候，來了一個名叫睚魯的會堂主管。他一見到耶穌，就俯伏在耶穌腳前，

看哪，有個一隻手枯萎的人。有些人就問耶穌，說：「在安息日使人痊癒，是否可以呢？」這是為要控告耶穌。耶穌對他們說：「你們當中有哪一個人，如果他有一隻羊在安息日掉進坑裡，他不會抓住羊，把牠拉上來呢？人比羊重要多了！所以，在安息日做好事是可以的。」

我見證他們對神有熱心，但不是按著真正的認識。

有些人就密切注意耶穌會不會在安息日使那個人痊癒，這是為要控告耶穌。耶穌對那手枯萎的人說：「起來，站到中間來！」耶穌問他們：「在安息日可以行善還是作惡，救命還是害命？」他們卻不做聲。耶穌憤怒地環視他們，又為他們心裡剛硬而憂傷，就對那個人說：「伸出手來！」他一伸出來，手就復原了。那些法利賽人就出去，立刻與希律黨的人一起商議怎樣對付耶穌，好除滅他。

大家都抓住會堂主管索提尼，在審判臺前毆打他。但伽利奧一概不管這些事。

誦讀了律法和先知書以後，會堂主管們派人來對他們說：「各位兄弟，如果有什麼鼓勵民眾的話，就請說吧。」

他們就滿腔怒火，彼此商量到底怎麼對付耶穌。

於是耶穌問律法師們和法利賽人，說：「在安息日使人痊癒，可以不可以？」他們都安靜下來。耶穌就扶著那人，使他痊癒，讓他走了。然後耶穌對他們說：「你們當中誰有兒子或牛在安息日這一天掉到井裡，而不立刻把他拉上來呢？」他們對這些話不能答辯。

會堂主管克里斯普和他全家都信了主，還有許多哥林多人聽了以後就信了，並且受了洗。
