Don’t be hasty in bringing charges to court. What will you do in the end when your neighbor shames you?Debate your case with your neighbor, and don’t betray the confidence of another,

for he says,“ At an acceptable time I listened to you. In a day of salvation I helped you.” Behold, now is the acceptable time. Behold, now is the day of salvation.

There the upright might reason with him, so I should be delivered forever from my judge.

For this, let everyone who is godly pray to you in a time when you may be found. Surely when the great waters overflow, they shall not reach to him.

Please let your servant speak in your ears. Hear the words of your servant.Please don’t let my lord pay attention to this worthless fellow, Nabal; for as his name is, so is he. Nabal is his name, and folly is with him; but I, your servant, didn’t see my lord’s young men, whom you sent.Now therefore, my lord, as Yahweh lives, and as your soul lives, since Yahweh has withheld you from blood guiltiness, and from avenging yourself with your own hand, now therefore let your enemies, and those who seek evil to my lord, be as Nabal.Now this present which your servant has brought to my lord, let it be given to the young men who follow my lord.Please forgive the trespass of your servant. For Yahweh will certainly make my lord a sure house, because my lord fights Yahweh’s battles. Evil will not be found in you all your days.Though men may rise up to pursue you, and to seek your soul, yet the soul of my lord will be bound in the bundle of life with Yahweh your God. He will sling out the souls of your enemies, as from the hollow of a sling.It will come to pass, when Yahweh has done to my lord according to all the good that he has spoken concerning you, and has appointed you prince over Israel,that this shall be no grief to you, nor offense of heart to my lord, either that you have shed blood without cause, or that my lord has avenged himself. When Yahweh has dealt well with my lord, then remember your servant.”David said to Abigail,“ Blessed is Yahweh, the God of Israel, who sent you today to meet me!Blessed is your discretion, and blessed are you, who have kept me today from blood guiltiness, and from avenging myself with my own hand.For indeed, as Yahweh, the God of Israel, lives, who has withheld me from harming you, unless you had hurried and come to meet me, surely there wouldn’t have been left to Nabal by the morning light so much as one who urinates on a wall.”So David received from her hand that which she had brought him. Then he said to her,“ Go up in peace to your house. Behold, I have listened to your voice, and have granted your request.”

in whom he also went and preached to the spirits in prison,

My son, if you have become collateral for your neighbor, if you have struck your hands in pledge for a stranger,you are trapped by the words of your mouth; you are ensnared with the words of your mouth.Do this now, my son, and deliver yourself, since you have come into the hand of your neighbor. Go, humble yourself. Press your plea with your neighbor.Give no sleep to your eyes, nor slumber to your eyelids.Free yourself, like a gazelle from the hand of the hunter, like a bird from the snare of the fowler.

Or what king, as he goes to encounter another king in war, will not sit down first and consider whether he is able with ten thousand to meet him who comes against him with twenty thousand?Or else, while the other is yet a great way off, he sends an envoy, and asks for conditions of peace.

Seek Yahweh while he may be found. Call on him while he is near.

And after the thousand years, Satan will be released from his prison,

Jacob sent messengers in front of him to Esau, his brother, to the land of Seir, the field of Edom.He commanded them, saying,“ This is what you shall tell my lord, Esau:‘ This is what your servant, Jacob, says. I have lived as a foreigner with Laban, and stayed until now.I have cattle, donkeys, flocks, male servants, and female servants. Therefore, even as the Holy Spirit says,“ Today if you will hear his voice,don’t harden your hearts, as in the rebellion, like as in the day of the trial in the wilderness,where your fathers tested me and tried me, and saw my deeds for forty years.Therefore I was displeased with that generation, and said,‘ They always err in their heart, but they didn’t know my ways.’As I swore in my wrath,‘ They will not enter into my rest.’”Beware, brothers, lest perhaps there might be in any one of you an evil heart of unbelief, in falling away from the living God;but exhort one another day by day, so long as it is called“ today”, lest any one of you be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin.

“ But you are full of the judgment of the wicked. Judgment and justice take hold of you.Don’t let riches entice you to wrath, neither let the great size of a bribe turn you aside.

“ Strive to enter in by the narrow door, for many, I tell you, will seek to enter in and will not be able.When once the master of the house has risen up, and has shut the door, and you begin to stand outside and to knock at the door, saying,‘ Lord, Lord, open to us!’ then he will answer and tell you,‘ I don’t know you or where you come from.’Then you will begin to say,‘ We ate and drank in your presence, and you taught in our streets.’He will say,‘ I tell you, I don’t know where you come from. Depart from me, all you workers of iniquity.’There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth when you see Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and all the prophets in God’s Kingdom, and yourselves being thrown outside.

“ Now consider this, you who forget God, lest I tear you into pieces, and there be no one to deliver.
