同樣的事也發生在以哥念。保羅和巴拿巴進了猶太人的會堂，在那裏講道，所以有很多猶太人和希臘人都信了。但那不順從的猶太人煽動外邦人，使他們心裏仇恨弟兄。二人在那裏住了好些日子，倚靠主放膽講道，主藉他們的手施行神蹟奇事，證明他恩惠的道。城裏的眾人卻分裂了：有依附猶太人的，有依附使徒的。

他所說的話，有的信，有的不信。

於是法利賽人中有的說：「這個人不是從上帝來的，因為他不守安息日。」另有的說：「一個罪人怎能行這樣的神蹟呢？」他們之間就產生了分裂。

「世人若恨你們，你們要知道，他們在恨你們以前已經恨我了。你們若屬世界，世界會愛屬自己的；只因你們不屬世界，而是我從世界中揀選了你們，所以世界就恨你們。你們要記得我對你們說過的話：『僕人不大於主人。』他們若迫害了我，也會迫害你們，他們若遵守了我的話，也會遵守你們的話。但他們要因我的名向你們做這一切的事，因為他們不認識差我來的那位。

猶太人為這些話又起了分裂。其中有好些人說：「他是被鬼附了，而且瘋了，為甚麼聽他的呢？」另有的說：「這不是被鬼附的人所說的話。鬼豈能開盲人的眼睛呢？」

不可倚賴鄰舍，不可信靠密友；甚至對躺在你懷中的妻子也要守住你的口。因為兒子藐視父親，女兒抵擋母親，媳婦抗拒婆婆，人的仇敵就是自己家裏的人。

連我知己的朋友，我所信賴、吃我飯的人也用腳踢我。

散會以後，有許多猶太人和敬虔的皈依猶太教的人跟從了保羅和巴拿巴。二人對他們講話，勸他們務要恆久倚靠上帝的恩典。到下一個安息日，全城的人幾乎都聚集起來，要聽主的道。但猶太人看見這麼多的人，就滿心嫉妒，辯駁保羅所說的話，並且毀謗他。於是保羅和巴拿巴放膽說：「上帝的道本應先傳給你們；只因你們棄絕這道，斷定自己不配得永生，我們就轉向外邦人。

另有的說：「這是基督。」但也有的說：「難道基督是出自加利利嗎？經上不是說『基督是大衛的後裔，出自大衛的本鄉伯利恆』嗎？」於是眾人因耶穌而分裂了。

人要把你們趕出會堂，而且時候將到，凡殺你們的還以為是在事奉上帝。
