故此要回想你怎樣領受，怎樣聽；務要執守，也要悔改。若不儆醒起來，我就像賊臨到，你決不能知道我在哪一時辰要臨到你。

看吧，我來像賊一樣；那儆醒並保守其衣裳、免得赤身而行、讓人看見他的下體的、有福啊！）

因為你們自己明確地曉得主的日子就像個賊夜裏來到一樣。人正說平安穩妥的時候，就在那時、突來的死滅就臨到他們了——正如產難臨到懷孕的婦人一樣——他們斷不能逃脫。
