耶稣听了就对他说：“你还有一件事没有做，就是变卖你所有的产业，分给穷人，你必有财宝存在天上，然后你还要来跟从我。”

耶稣说：“这就是那些只顾为自己积财、在上帝面前却不富足之人的写照。”

他们把田产家业变卖了，按照各人的需要把钱分给大家。

信徒都一无所缺，因为大家卖掉房屋田产，把所得的钱交给使徒，照各人的需要分配给各人。

“不要为自己在世上积攒财宝，世上有虫子咬，会生锈，又有贼闯进来偷。你们要把财宝积攒在天上，天上没有虫子咬，不会生锈，也没有贼闯进来偷。要知道，你的财宝在哪里，你的心也在哪里。

“我告诉你们，要善用今世的钱财，广结朋友。这样，当钱财不管用时，他们会接你们到永远的居所。

他们虽然遭遇极大的患难，受尽熬炼，却充满了喜乐，在极度贫穷的情况下仍然十分慷慨乐捐。

你要劝诫那些今世富足的人不要高傲，也不要冀望于靠不住的钱财，要信靠将万物厚赐给我们享用的上帝。你要劝他们多多行善、慷慨施舍、乐意助人。这样，他们可以为自己的将来奠定美好的基础，以便持守真正的生命。

你们种多收少，吃不饱，喝不足，穿不暖，挣来的工钱却放在漏口袋中。”

他这样说不是因为他真的关心穷人，其实他是个贼，常常借管钱的机会中饱私囊。

你们这些富有的人啊！为那将要临到你们身上的灾难痛哭哀号吧！你们的财物朽坏了，衣服也被虫蛀了。你们的金银生了锈，那锈必要指控你们，像火一样吞噬你们的身体。在末世的日子里，你们只知道积攒财宝。

只要你们发自内心地去施舍，一切对你们都是洁净的。
