For the pagan world runs after all such things, and your Father knows that you need them.

People who are ungodly run after all those things. Your Father knows that you need them.

For all the nations of the world seek after these things, and your Father knows that you need them.

These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers all over the world, but your Father already knows your needs.

For the Gentile world eagerly seeks all these things, and your Father knows that you need them.

For all these things are what the nations of the world eagerly seek; and your Father knows that you need these things.

So I say this, and insist in the Lord, that you no longer live as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their thinking.

“ Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father is well pleased to give you the kingdom.

And if you only greet your brothers, what more do you do? Even the Gentiles do the same, don’t they?

not in lustful passion like the Gentiles who do not know God.

“ Be careful not to display your righteousness merely to be seen by people. Otherwise you have no reward with your Father in heaven.

in that he spends the rest of his time on earth concerned about the will of God and not human desires.For the time that has passed was sufficient for you to do what the non- Christians desire. You lived then in debauchery, evil desires, drunkenness, carousing, drinking bouts, and wanton idolatries.So they are astonished when you do not rush with them into the same flood of wickedness, and they vilify you.

Jesus replied,“ Do not touch me, for I have not yet ascended to my Father. Go to my brothers and tell them,‘ I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’”
